"Unfortunately this place isn't what it used to be. Their bagels taste good but are smaller than they used to be and the service is unpleasant. The "New York Bagels" in this place's name no longer applies, these aren't like NY bagels at all. The business may be cutting costs by trimming back on the amount of dough used for each bagel. They are much thinner than they used to be, and are often misshapen. They are so thin its now hard to cut one in half, you'll end up with slices thinner than typical sliced bread. I've been in twice in the last few months, both times the staff was quite rude and disorganized, preoccupied with their phones while standing at the register. I wish they still took pride in their product. I miss the old Goldbergs."
"I go here for an Everything Bagel with veggie schmear, tomato, red onion, and capers. No one else around has better bagels than here...for me that is. I am usually in and out after I order in about 5 minutes. GREAT FOOD!"
"Ordering from here was a frustrating experience. After placing my online order (just for a sandwich and latte), I had to stand in the online order line to check in. It took several minutes to find my order, and then I was directed to a window where the sandwich would be ready in another 5-10 minutes and my latte whenever I guess? 26 minutes after I put in my order I asked about the status of my drink and the barista couldn’t find my order. She ended up walking to another area of the store and found my drink. It was very disorganized and frustrating. Also the bagel was underbaked. I wanted to support a Jewish business but I won’t be going back here."
"Had a memorable experience this morning when picking up two dozen bagels for my office. The young man at the counter was exceptionally pleasant and upbeat, which isn't always easy at 7:30 in the morning. I've been to Goldberg's a number of times, but this morning was particularly memorable."
"Update: The food is still great, the breakfast and coffee has gotten better and the place got a face lift and looks phenomenal. The service can use help, but it is still worth the food. The donuts are only on Hanukah. Some the best bagels I've eaten. Walking in to the place you wouldn't think that this place has amazing stuff, but they have the freshest and tastiest bagels and donuts. When I got in to the shop I was so confused where to go, it totally threw me off. There are two counters and you don't know which is for what. The place is old and in need of a new coat of paint. After you order, they have table service and bring you your food. The breakfast and coffee where not good. One taste was all we had. The bagel was one of a kind and redeemed the place. Not to mention, the donut was the softest and sweetest donut I had in a long time. Go for the baked goods!"
