"He's a really good doctor"

"Dr. Lockhart delivered my first child, and I wish he didn’t. During my pregnancy care, he seemed to be completely disinterested in anything I had to say. Told me a few times that I was a “new mother to be” and was “over reacting” by my concerns. What I inquired about was what any mom would’ve asked, but he was nothing more than dismissive about my inquires. During the labor, after not even 10-15 minutes of pushing, he told me that since I wasn’t pushing “well enough”, he was going to vacuum my daughter out. I promptly told him that wasn’t happening, and she was born less than 5 minutes later by my efforts. After he laid her on my belly, delivered the afterbirth, and stitched me up, he left the room and I never saw him again. My daughter was born just shy of 10pm, the next morning I was told I was discharged, 12 hours after having a baby. I was surprised, but happy to go home. I started packing up my daughter and the nurse said that I was discharged, but my daughter wasn’t. I asked her why was I discharged so quickly. She informed me that Dr. Lockhart was notorious for discharging mothers quickly and not checking back with them. I told her I wasn’t going anywhere without my daughter. She then had another doctor okay me to stay until my daughter was released by the pediatrician. After we were released and went home, I never went back to Lockhart for my postpartum appointment, I found another OB/GYN and had them check me out. When I told the new doctor why I was seeing them and not the doctor that delivered my baby, they were shocked. I had spoken to a few other women that also had Lockhart as an OB, and they all had negative interactions with him. Not one said they would recommend him or see him for their next child. Now, this was some years ago that he delivered my daughter, and I hope he has changed and has actually become a decent doctor because the doctor he was, was absolutely abhorrent and what a disservice to the women he was “caring” for."
