"DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!! 1 star rating is too high! American Home Shield sent this company to diagnose my AC unit. The initial diagnosis was that there was a leak in my evaporator coil and I needed a new one. I ended up getting a second opinion and that was NOT the issue. There was a leak but not where they said it was. The part that was being ordered was not needed. When I asked them how the leak test was performed, they could not respond. AND they tried to charge me for 10 pounds of refrigerant when my system only holds 8. The initial amount I was quoted was $110/pound. Within a week it increased to $150/pound. AND after the initial diagnosis, they tried to add something needed to be done to my drain system. AND the owner of the company is the most rudest, disrespectful person I’ve ever met in my life. The conversations I had with him via phone were so unprofessional. He told me “You’re the type of customer that I can’t tell something to because you’ll hold me to it.” I would NEVER spend my money with a company with this kind of service. AND American Home Shield will be cancelled. When I explained to them the issues I was having, they didn’t bother to send someone else out. Told me they couldn’t do that. Please beware of this company for unethical practices. Again, DO NOT waste your time. You will truly be disappointed."
"We also used this company through our home warranty company (American Home Shield) Oil Furnace stopped producing heat. It would come on and shut off after a few minutes. When I write a review I take the entire experience under consideration and wait a few days after the repair. Reviews for heating & AC issues are the worst because they never happen when convenient and people should understand that when the Temps reach extremes such as 90 or higher in the summer or 32 or less in the winter is usually when issues start to surface because you are running the heat or AC constantly to stay warm or cool. As a home owner I would recommend purchasing parts when you can and having the yearly maintenance done to ensure efficiency something I need to get better at doing every year. When we all have to call to have service in an area like the DC market that services millions of customers during extreme weather even the best companies will have issues servicing all tickets some companies do this by working 24 hours. Because there are so many homes from older to newer and all types of different units no company has the ability to stock all necessary parts that's logistically impossible. So I would recommend 2 days to be available the initial visit and diagnosis and a second day if needed to repair IF a part needs to be ordered. For our visit two parts were replaced the oil nozzle near the igniter and the actual igniter transformer. One part he had the other had to be ordered. 1st visit was between 8 AM to 12 PM he came closer to 12 PM and his office called and text regularly with updates before his arrival. Came out on a Wednesday replaced the 1 part he had ordered the 2nd part returned and installed it on Friday between 12 PM to 4 PM he arrived after 4 PM however his office kept me updated on his status. Once he showed up the part was installed in 10 minutes and heat was working. These technicians encounter issues during installs that may require additional repairs and parts or just take longer than expected this is why I highly recommend taking the day off and not play with the set time with ANY of these companies if you can do that, I'm not saying dont hold them to a standard but understand the situation. We all pay good money for services but as we all know nothing happens when you want it too due to circumstances out of our control. It was cold temps in the low 20s this week, we made due with space heaters until it was completed. When my family was asking about the repair and when it would be done because it was cold I said this. We are Blessed we have a home and sometimes things malfunction it's in the process of being repaired there are those in our country around this time (Xmas) that dont have a home or dont have heat; if they can survive a winter or several weeks under those circumstances certainly we can survive 1 week while its being repaired. It's not making light of the situation or being unsympathetic sometimes things have a way of putting things in perspective and reminding us of why we should be happy with what we have and work to make it better. This doesn't excuse bad work, ordering wrong parts or length of repair that some feel unjustified. Which in my case wasn't the issue, they came the day they said, diagnosed the concern, replaced all parts needed, and no other out of Pocket expenses were paid outside the Fee required by the Home Warranty company for the initial visit. The Technician and the dispatcher were curtious, professional and polite and followed through until the work was completed. Thank you for the Repair!"
"Would give them O stars if you had a score that low. Had waited for almost a month to have my A/C fixed and they have broken more than they have repaired. Have been stood up twice, by the owner himself, waiting almost an entire Saturday and Sunday. He finally showed up, said he needed more equipment and would be right back and never showed back up. Called him and said he was on the way and still did not show up. Failed to answer call backs or texts. We are still without A/C. I am a retired Army Colonel, and am appalled, by their lack of technical competence, honor, integrity and customer service. They were sent by our home warranty company, American Home Shield, and I am recommending to them that they withdraw their contract and hold them liable for the damage they did to our A/C system, resulting in broken fan blades, a stripped valve that caused the system to leak four pounds of freon and flooding in our basement. Had they diagnosed the problem right initially and fixed the loose fan blades, not stripped the valve, which they admitted to doing, been more timely and not lied about their response time, we might have A/C today, rather than still dealing with this sweltering heat, without any resolution. Will call the Better Business Bureau and perhaps a Consumer Affairs reporter to expose their incompetence and lack of integrity, so others don't have to suffer. My rating for them is a "BIG FAT ZERO"!"
"This company was referred through my home warranty company and did not start off on a good note I should say. When it is summer time and you have to wait three days to get an air conditioning company out when your unit is frozen you are already not pleased. Then they show up and are in your home all of 15 minutes show up wearing head phones looking like they just graduated high school tell you that your unit has a slow leak which they don’t fix but they will need to add 2 lbs of Freon to the tune of $230 which you pay and less thean 24 hours later the unit is frozen again! Did they in fact even put Freon in my unit. What happened to having a business where you stand by your work? You don’t return calls made to your emergency call line and then say you didn’t receive it. When asked for a supervisor to call you can already guess that didn’t happen. This is a company to put on your DO NOT USE LIST."
"I never leave negative reviews but this one had to be done. We have had a horrible experience with this company, we are first time home buyers and signed up with this company. Our furnace broke down about two months ago. We called and someone showed up to evaluate. It took them about two weeks to come back, they did not fix the problem and said the furnace needed another part. Two weeks later, another one showed up, the part did not work, he said they need a different part, which took another two weeks. The last one who came on a friday also could not find the right part and gave the same story of ordering a part and that they will call us in two days. Its been over a week now and they have not called us They do not seem to have a sense of urgency. If our pipes break because of freezing, they do not cover that yet it would be a result of them not helping us in a timely manner. I would not recommend them to anyone. Sign up with them at your own risk."
