"Workmanship and quality issues. Builder did not honor the home warranty. It was new construction. While much of the house turned out fine, there were issues with weatherproofing that caused leaks in the house. We had a 3rd party inspector come out to identify the issues in workmanship so we could address the leaks. There were also issues with the top floor railing, which we had to secure later. The subfloor to the top deck was not the right material, and we had to replace the entire deck. Additionally, we were charged for a humidifier that was never installed. We've had multiple plumbing leaks in the house. Some of the smaller items have been addressed by Chesapeake Services, but all of the larger ones we've had to pay for ourselves. Jim and his company would not honor the warranty and has told us he has no money to fix the issues. Insurance only covered the interior damage to our house, so we're stuck with the bill to fix all of the other issues with workmanship. Despite several promises over the past months to reimburse us for the Humidifier, no payments have ever been sent. I don't like leaving a negative review, but it's unfair to other consumers who rely on reviews not to be informed before choosing their builder. I would update the review if Chesapeake Services takes responsibility for the additional costs we've incurred and reimburses us for the humidifier, but as we've given them 12 months to do so, I'm not optimistic."
