"I called Raker Appliance to look at my washer. Mr. Reid Raker came to my house, pulled the back touch panel off the washer, dropped a multi-meter on it, and determined it was bad and quoted me $460 ($120 service fee / $340 part) for the repair. Fair enough, he was having the part shipped to my house, so I told him he did not have to come back and that I could just install it, but he insisted he had to do it. So, the part came in on a day my wife and I had to be onsite at work, so we asked my mother to come over to receive him at the houses and pay him. He came to the house, snapped the new panel in place and was finished in 15-minutes. Then proceeded to charge my card $580 (my mother had no clue what the cost should be), adding an additional $120 service fee to come back to the house to plug in the new part. When I called him on it, he said $460 was only an estimate, but how is a $120 service fee and a flat rate $340 part an estimate and not a quote? He finally admitted that did not tell me there was an additional fee to return, but refuses to return my $120. So, beware and get EVERYTHING in writing before you commit to any repairs, because verbal agreements mean nothing today, especially to those who hide behind mantras such as “superior honesty and professionalism” like Raker Appliance."

"Wonderful service. We had another company come to look at our dryer - it took them 2 weeks to "fix" the dryer and we were left with more problems than we had originally. The company was unreliable and difficult to communicate with. We did not want to work with them again to fix the problems that had arrived. We called Raker and they were able to stop out next day. They were able to completely repair the whole washer/dryer within 3 days. They were very responsive through both calling and texting. They were upfront and clear with everything that was going on and their prices were reasonable. We were not even charge for the first visit.
