"My partner and I have had the absolute worst experience Evergreen health. My partner had lab work done over 6 months ago. Recently he got numerous bills from the lab totally approx $2,000 saying that it's the patients responsibilty because there was no coverage which simply was not true. The health plan had been paid in full throughout the year. When I called Evergreen to resolve this issue as we cannot afford to pay that much money out of pocket (especially when the plan has been paid in full) they said they have to get in touch with the health connection for some reason, and there has not been a response, this was about a month ago, and now the lab bills are past due. I'm desperate. I don't know what to do at this point. I sincerely feel that this insurance company simply does not care. I will say that the agents I speak with on the phone are willing to help but it doesn't seem like they know how to help. I'm just at my wits end. We shouldn't have to deal with all of this stress in addition to a life threatening illness :("
"Just awful. They claim to cover in their insurance meetings, but then refuse to cover when you need it. They have changed my insurance group and member ID four times already this year which causes incredible problems with pharmacies - I'll go in to pick up a script and then find out that my insurance has been denied. One time I needed it that day and had no solution or new card so had to pay $300 for a thirty day script of a medication with a 12 hour half life. Needless to say this organization is disorganized, incredibly confusing, and inconsistent in what they say and promise versus what they do."
"I had a policy with Evergreen for the year of 2015, and during that time for the most part they did great. However, in November of 2015, I followed the steps they instructed me to do in order to cancel and not renew for 2016 - I emailed AND faxed a cancellation letter to them. I followed up with a call and was told it was received. January comes and I get my bill, and since then (it's 2/16/16 right now), I've received February's bill as well as two late payment notices. I've called back another 3 times (1/11, 2/2, and 2/16) and each time I am told something different on how this will be handled and canceled. Yet, it is STILL NOT DONE. No one can give me any written confirmation that I have cancelled my plan. I don't even have a member card, because I AM NOT A MEMBER, yet I still have a member # and bills coming to me on the regular. This is unacceptable. I don't know what I am supposed to do to successfully cancel this policy. A good start would be to have customer service individuals who KNOW what they are doing and are trained on correct procedures and policies. Clearly, they are not, since I've been thrown in many different directions by many different people. Each time I call, I'm told the last person I spoke with was incorrect and did not take care of the issue as they promised me they would. I always try my best to be fair and kind, and I'm a fan of reviews because they are truly helpful. I am by no means trying to bash them without reason. I just hope this review will warn someone, save someone, from the stress I've had to endure with this very frustrating experience. Do not get insurance with Evergreen, please look elsewhere because they are just not it."
"Worst health insurance company I have ever dealt with. So far, Evergreen charged me money for coverage I did not receive and have not paid me back in 4 months, said I was covered when I re-applied later and denied my claim for hundreds of dollars for a simple Patient First visit, and every time I call them I am on hold so long I can't resolve my issue. When someone does get on the phone they are very friendly, but ultimately clueless and unable to deal with my problems or their workloads. I will not be surprised when they shut down their services. Any other provider is a better choice. Will be switching as soon as I possibly can."
"I am a current member; thank God my company will be switching providers when it's time for renewal. In Nov 2015, I had to call about a bill; I was informed that my company had been cancelled from their system 4 days prior. I knew this was impossible so I contacted my benefits administrator. Come to find out, Evergreen switched to a new "system" and our group somehow had not transferred over. This went on for over a week, and nobody in customer service had a clue. They kept telling me it was our brokers fault. I spent hours on the phone back and forth with our broker and our "account manager" at Evergreen, who couldn't have done less to fix the problem. I could not get my prescriptions filled at the pharmacy, even after standing at the register at the pharmacy while on the phone with the account rep at Evergreen, who was insisting everything was cleared up, and the pharmacist is telling me I am still showing as cancelled. This went on for 3 weeks! Then, it's time for new insurance cards. They mail out the wrong cards, because they have switched something else, causing everyone's Member ID to be different. The confusion has been immense, and there has been absolutely no proactive help from Evergreen whatsoever. I am still dealing with problems because apparently they have switched something else internally and again, I cannot get anyone to give me an answer other than "I'll get back to you". If you're considering Evergreen because their cost is low, remember that you get what you pay for. My company will NOT continue with Evergreen past this benefit year."
