"Fantastic restaurant with delicious food. Our waiter was kind and friendly. The decor is so cute. Highly recommend the sausage with mash potato. My only area for improvement—more bread with the charcuterie board."

"The hype is real. The NY-born French brasserie from the man behind Le Diplomate is worth checking out. Inside an old warehouse near Union Market, Pastis is a spacious restaurant with a chic Parisian design. Popping in for a private lunch, here's my experience. 1) Food: Since it was a private lunch, the menu was chosen for us, but everything was good. To start, we had shrimp and crab, leek with vinaigrette (so good!), and an excellent and light Caesar salad. And of course bread, which is crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. With a butter that pops, it's dangerous. For the main, we had the grilled branzino and bar steak with maître d’hôtel butter. Both were well-prepared and tasty, but the sides it came with were excellent- glazed carrots and gigante bean salad. I don't even like carrots, and I went for seconds! 2) Drinks: With a full cocktail, beer, and wine list, I ordered their "Royale Spritz." With less of a bitter taste and made with grapefruit, it was the best Aperol spritz I've ever had. So refreshing! 3) Service: Staff take their jobs seriously. It was excellent- attentive and friendly without being unprofessional. 4) Space: It's large with several dining rooms, a bar, and outdoor heated seating. The design really pops and is equal parts inviting and beautiful. 5) Neighborhood: It's around the corner from La Cosecha and Union Market. Park on the street or in Union Market's lot or La Cosecha's garage. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance."

"Excellent atmosphere! The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated. The service was top notch. Our server was incredibly charming and attentive. The Duck Confit was delicious and the meat was falling off the bone and the carrots were perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!"

"Lovely atmosphere and great lighting! Enjoyed every single dish we tried - the duck confit was fabulous!! Cocktails were fun and tasty. Dessert was wonderful. Great wine recommendations from knowledgeable and passionate sommelier Mikayla, she’s a true gem. Our server Adele really was the cherry on top of a perfect night, she’s incredibly attentive and thoughtful. 10/10 and can’t wait to return."

"Where DC's Culinary Scene Got a French Kiss (and It Was Delicious!) Forget Eiffel Towers and croissants, Pastis is DC's new love affair, and it's sizzling hotter than a crêpe on a July sidewalk. My taste buds did a can-can after the first bite of their veal tongue appetizer. Imagine this: a velvety, melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece nestled on a bed of jewel potatoes that shimmered like tiny emeralds. Each creamy bite was a party in my mouth, and the garnish? Forget parsley sprigs, this was an edible Monet, a kaleidoscope of flavors that had me ooh-la-la-ing all night. Then came the main event: chicken paillard with almonds. Picture this: a golden, buttery bird so tender it practically surrendered to my fork. And the almonds? Crunchy, toasty, like sunshine on a croissant. The veggies? Vibrant, fresh, like they just did a Zumba class in the garden. Each forkful was a symphony, a culinary chanson that had me humming with delight. The vibe? Oh, it was pure Parisian magic. Beautiful people, a buzz that crackled like a baguette in a toaster, and a staff who knew their stuff better than a mime knows how to annoy tourists. Opening night jitters? Non! These folks were pros, gliding through the room like seasoned waltzers, making everyone feel like they'd just stepped into a scene from Amélie. So, if you're looking for a taste of France that's more than just escargot and beret-wearing waiters, Pastis is your new BFF. It's a culinary adventure that'll have you saying "merci beaucoup" with every bite. Just don't blame me if you start practicing your French accent in the shower. You've been warned! P.S. Don't forget to try the pastis, of course! It's the perfect way to kick off your French fiesta. Just make sure you hold onto your hat, because this place is gonna blow you away! Bon appétit!"
