"A mixed bag of experiences at suite 307/French Creek formerly known as PMA. Have there been improvements since they have become affiliated with Penn Medicine? Unfortunately not. I have seen a revolving door of clinicians over the years and it seems the “good ones” have all left: Wendy Olenick was wonderful and so was Eric DiCicco, some very nice nurses left as well. Now we’re left with disgruntled front office ladies who frankly all exhibit the same UN-lady like manner: rough around the edges, poor attitude, lack of empathy and kindness. Short staffed way before Covid. Have seen a number of different providers there from Wawrzyniak to Hooks and they’re both the same in their approach, sadly. Ashley Hooks completely misdiagnosed me and it took a second opinion, ironically another PMA person to obtain proper treatment. In hindsight, she was so rushed and barely asked question that now I can see how she missed some major signs of my Lyme."
"I understand everybody is STILL afraid of Covid, however we are no longer going through the pandemic and Covid will forever be a part of life, just like the flu and other illness. I called to make an appointment as I was experiencing symptoms for a few weeks now and not feeling well. I tested THREE times for Covid, all at different times, ALL of which came back negative! I didn’t even have a fever. I was functioning but just had been dealing with a stubborn chest cold for a while, I thought I might need an antibiotic so I called the doctor and the receptionist told me I was not allowed at the office with my symptoms! She wasn’t even listening to me when I told her I have been Covid free every single time I tested I do not have a fever and didn’t have the flu. This phone call took place on Friday 1/27 around 11am, for whoever was working there at the time! I guess this doctors office doesn’t see sick people anymore. Its a real shame healthcare has become this bad, with absolutely ZERO regard for patients! Awful! The front desk receptionist is rude as well. All Penn Medicine doctors, as well as other doctors who won’t see sick people should find a different profession or retire! Again, there are other viruses in life, other than COVID that people need to be seen for, in person! And as a doctor, it is disturbing and pathetic as to how the ignorance is still there!"
"My previous doctor retired. I had to find a new doctor's office to get some stiches removed after an accident. PMA got me in right away and took care of my needs. Ashley and the rest of the staff were excellent!"
"This office is terrible. Have called SEVERAL times for lab results- NEVER receive a callback. Have even called the lab results in MYSELF for the doctor to get back to me- it’s been 3 weeks, 3 MONTHS since the lab. STILL no callback. Have been told “just spoke the MA, she will call you back in 20 minutes”… no callback, EVER. I fully understand staffing issues nowadays but this is completely unacceptable. I have finally somehow managed to figure out how to see the results MYSELF and found to be an abnormal lab (how unnerving!) , I suppose I’ll have to find an office that cares about patients to further investigate. Absolutely disgusted with this office, highly recommend looking at other offices if you’re searching."
"The doctors at PMA are great! Knowledgeable and attentive. The reception staff on the other hand, seems to lack personableness; for the many years I've gone to PMA, the reception staff seems to have a hard time smiling or being pleasant to the patients. Recently, in addition to the lack lustre attitudes, a lab script that was supposed to be sent to the lab never got sent and I didn't know that until I had waited an hour to have the tests done and then after checking in at the office to get a TB test and waiting 50 minutes, was told by the nurse that finally called me, that the front staff at the front desk didn't send back the list with my name on it and she didn't know I was there. Something seems to be lacking and it's not with the doctors."
