"I was in the ER Dept Friday with severe pain. They took me in very quickly, made me feel comfortable. All the nursing staff and doctors were very easy to work with and made me feel like a priority. Thanks again for all the help!"
"I’m 60. Never been admitted overnight in a hospital. Went in ER. Had many doctors and nurses that took care of me and had tests, etc. Everyone performed flawlessly with the utmost care and compassion. Special shout out to Amy and Gigi. You shared your knowledge and care with me with your heart and soul. So very much appreciated! I’m feeling so much better now"
"This review is 4 years in the making but it was time to finally give it. My review one would think would be clouded over time but the trauma that my wife and I endured during our child birth experience still remains as fresh as ever in our minds. The child birth experience started at 2:30am the night before my son was born. My wife was 38 weeks pregnant. Unbeknownst to us but my wife's headache was actually signs and symptoms of preeclampsia. I took my wife's blood pressure manually at home it was elevated. I told my wife let's get to the hospital as she couldn't shake the headache off and with high blood pressure we knew this was urgent. We made it to the hospital rather quickly as the late night roads were empty. After receiving Tylenol and a mildly decreased blood pressure they were ready to send us home. I literally had to say if my wife's blood pressure at home is elevated again I would be right back in their ER. The OB physician weighed the possibility of having to repeat all the paperwork all over again and with a grin and sarcastic tone told my wife and I "congratulations you are gonna have a baby this weekend!" (As it was a Friday night) I contacted my office and told them I would not be coming to work as I was in the hospital now with my wife. Our journey was just getting started. Upon admission to our first room we met an anesthesiologist attending and his resident physician. Who came to speak to us about the epidural procedure. My wife who has scoliosis came in prepared with all her old medical imaging related to the curvatures in her spine. This was all to help facilitate the epidural process. The anesthesiologist and his resident scoffed and disregard the attempt to help the process. After receiving the epidural my wife stated she still felt sensation in her left leg. She only felt numb above the umbilicus. When she asked if this was normal the resident who was the only person left with us in the room as his boss already left stated this was totally normal and not everyone get full numbness and the procedure would be totally fine. My wife and I were very shocked to hear this. Finally as the resident was leaving he noticed my wife's Bellevue and asked us why are we at Tisch we could've just delivered at Bellevue as the medical teams as per him were the same. Oh the story is far from over here. We finally are in our L&D room assigned a room and the cute warm baby basket was in the room with the anticipation of a vaginal delivery. The pain started to increase. The tachometer in our room was very finicky. The nurse had to come and adjust the apparatus on my wife's belly over and over again as wave forms would dissipate and contractions were not being read by the machine. Given the lack of evidence of contractions On the tachometer the nurse asked my wife if she was in pain or was she just scared. My wife who was in tears stated she was in pain. Legit pain! This same nurse at sign out to over night nurse team told her counter part in my ear's reach "nothing is happening here with this one, she's not contracting and has not dilated beyond 4cm. She's crying but there's nothing going on." Thankfully the over night nurse had real compassion and would on multiple occasion attempt to adjust the tachometer which she noted was not giving appropriate wave form and sensed something was more to this situation then just a dramatic pregnant woman. At this point decelerations started to occur. My wife would shriek in pain and dilation was not happening. A balloon dilator was attempted to no avail. The tachometer waveforms would show scary decelerations prompting alarms and swarms of staff storming the room. One of which was an overnight OB who adjusted my wife's bed without even identifying himself and just walked out of the room, causing myself and my father in law to look at each other super perplexed."
"I've been a patient in the ER, an inpatient, have had many outpatient procedures and tests performed with never a bad experience at Phoenixville hospital. But I will never forget being a terrified mother while my son's life was being saved inside that ER. My son arrived there in full cardiac arrest, that staff work ferociously to not only bring him back but stabilize him and arrange the lifeflight to CHOP. You can't help but respect the knowledge, capabilities and compassion of a staff that saves your child's life! That was over a decade ago, now that child has a child, and I have a grandson I would never of had if it wasn't for the amazing staff in that ER on one of the most terrifying days of my life. This magic little boy would not have blessed my world had it not been for the ER staff at Phoenixville Hospital!"
"I checked in for an abdominal pain, was taken back immediately and taken care of by some of the most intelligent, kind team of women I have ever met. I would like to special shout-out Nurse Trish for being so light hearted and fun, and Dr. Davitt for prioritizing my comfort. The ER team made me feel like I was in a safe space as a woman, cared for me with urgency, and I left without any questions unanswered. I’m so happy I came in to be treated, and feel grateful to have been taken in by such wonderful ladies! Thank you ER team!"
