"We've moved our kids here from private school and are very happy with our decision. The kids like it and it's much better than the city schools where we live. I think it's a nice medium between the rigidity we had in private school and the chaos that exists in our neighborhood school. The day is a bit longer but the kids don't seem to notice. The teachers have been very nice and there are lots of opportunities for kids and families to be involved."
"What I appreciate from this school is how they focus on STEAM and is family oriented. They encourage parent/family participation. The faculty go far and beyond to help/accommodate the student. They offer extra curriculums (including Saturday morning which can be a drop off or parent involve and is free), clubs after school, and free tutoring. They also run clubs during the summer. The school is expanding in order to have adequate space for everyone. This school can use some improvements in the communication area, but staff are quick to respond. Faculty utilizes Dojo (app) and when you send a text to teachers no matter time or day, they respond rapidly. I appreciate that. Overall, I'm satisfy specially because they also offer two languages starting in kindergarten along with music and kids begin playing instruments starting 1st grade."
"As a former student, I am very disappointed with how this school has gone downhill. I blame the administration as they are unprepared to run a school. Young Scholars was meant to be a school exclusively for the gifted hence “scholars”, however any child is now accepted. It is not a safe and healthy environment to learn. The advanced students are pushed to the side as they are no longer of concern and the school is failing to challenge them. It is a shame that the main advertised goal of the school has proceeded to be ignored."
"The school was good when it first opened. But the current board of directors and some top administration has really brought this school down. It has become a drop off point for kids who are to bad to be in public school. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN THERE"
"Outstanding school. Small classes. Two foreign languages. Low-cost after school enrichment. Strong community. Skilled teachers and staff. Happy kids. I can't say enough about how satisfied we are having our children enrolled at Young Scholars."
