"The Light Program has been one of the best mental health services experiences I have had to date. They are very thorough, they are not hurried, they listen, and ask lots of questions and clarify things very clearly. I attended this location for their PHP program and then I transferred to their specialized IOP. By far I feel I learned more here than any other mental health service combined, (except for maybe my current therapist)and I think this is due in part to the staff. Every single one of the therapists here were personable, had their own style and personality but they handled things so well. It was obvious to me upon arrival that they care very passionately about what they do and I think many of them come with their own lived experience, which just goes a long way for trust and credibility in my book. I have been working on my self awareness and development for years and healing trauma, and I just feel like I cannot say enough about how wonderful this program is. They are good with follow up (I’m sorry! I did not call back when you followed up because I got so busy with life!! But thank you all so much!!) they are gracious, inclusive, and very compassionate but firm. I noticed also if any drama emerged they addressed right away, and they were kind and compassionate in their approach. They are flexible and they explain what to expect on your first day. They have a very sweet lady that attends the front door - she was just so welcoming and friendly it really adds to the safe, comfortable environment. I would love to use names but not sure if I should for privacy reasons - but to everyone in the PHP program and upstairs IOP - I love you all! You made a big difference in my life and in turn my family! Thank you so much for what you do! I think if I had to find one thing about this program that stands out - aside from the wonderful people, I would say it is how much usage and exposure they give attendees of somatic healing methods. They present many different ways to help deactivate the nervous system and they bring in professionals who will teach these skills to you. Some of the offerings they have are EFT tapping, Yoga, music therapy, and many other things. I feel that this really helped increase my own body awareness and it helped me understand what goes on in my mind when I have depression, stress, or anxiety. I feel like the entire industry would be so much more successful if this model was followed in other places. I cannot say enough how grateful I am for this program. "The Light Program offered me a place to go when I didn’t know where I was in life. When I first started in the partial hospitalization program (php, Mon-Fri) I had just gone through a bit of a major life change and had no plans for the future. I was feeling incredibly lost and didn’t know where to turn. I was looking into potential therapists and I came across TLP, and very quickly got an intake appointment and then started php the day after my appointment. I'm forever thankful to Elsa and Nicole for being my main supports while I was in php, and all of the other therapists/staff were incredible as well — so kind and welcoming and non judgmental. Nicole is the nurse practitioner that you see once a week when you are in php, and can then make appointments with when you move to iop. She is a wonderful person to talk to and I felt really listened to by her. She helped me through medication changes and a new diagnosis that was pretty eye opening. Once I moved from php to the intensive outpatient program (iop, Mon-Thurs), I was introduced to Monica, the therapist that runs iop. The way this group runs is different and what we did was different, but I think in most aspects I preferred the way that iop ran. Monica is a wonderful therapist and does a great job giving everyone opportunities to speak and share, and does well at steering the conversation in the right direction as well. If you have been struggling to find help and unsure of what you even need, please try The Light Program! If you’ve never tried group therapy, my advice is to try! This was my first experience with group therapy and I was hesitant, but it was so much different and more enjoyable than I had imagined. Thank you to the staff and to my fellow group members that I made connections with. I have been done with php and iop for a little bit now, and I definitely can see positive change in myself -- I am more introspective and in tune with my emotions, and my communication skills have improved immensely. Don’t hesitate to ask for help as it is the bravest thing a person can do :)"
