"I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Genuinely a terrible living experience for a number of reasons, principal being the completely inadequate and inaccurate oversight of the leasing office and property managers. It’s not worth it, don’t live here."
"The management have rude attitudes and speak to people with a disrespectful mono tone voice. I wouldn't want to live there and deal with rude gals."
"Put an eviction on my credit years after move out despite all accounts being paid in full with a balance of $0 after move out via deposit. Also kept way more of deposit than necessary."
"**2023 update** I have lived in this complex for a little under 4 years now and am STILL beyond thrilled with living here. Still, stand by my rating of 5 stars! We are under new management now and while not as great as the previous manager, everything still runs smoothly and communications are still great. Of course, things do not go right and have to be addressed, but this is normal for apartment living and I have no real complaints. An important reminder that these buildings are historic and were restored so there are conflicts with the overall construction occasionally as these were built nearly 100 years ago! The maintenance staff is incredible and so personable, and the office staff is kind and thorough. Highly recommend this historic community, really an amazing place to live. **Original Review from 2019** Listen, everyone has their conflicts when renting an apartment - but this place is by FAR the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. I have lived here 2 years, I was the first person to live in my specific apartment. The layouts, amenities, and floor plans accommodate EVERYONE - there are even low income units available. They allow all dogs, of ANY size, breed, AND age. The look and feel of each apartment is industrial, but homey. The electric bills are higher than your average apartment or even town home, but we have 15 FOOT CEILINGS, and concrete flooring - so this mathematically makes sense (we use dominion energy, they offer budget billing!) & it truly is no fault of the management OR maintenance that this is the way it is, the architects and builders are the ones at true fault when they chose the HVAC systems they did. The management has changed several times, this is true - but this is NORMAL for new complexes as they try to figure out the right variety of people to run the community. Last September, we changed management to Rosie Hackett, and she is BY FAR the best manager we have had - the issues are no longer issues and she is incredibly fast at correctly addressing any new conflicts; the community has never looked or felt better. The maintenance guys are extremely nice and friendly, and love all the animals wholeheartedly so there is never a complaint or issue. I'd say my only real complaint is the fact that the Alexander company chose to build SO MANY houses and town homes on this property (for obvious financial gain) so it is getting more and more crowded by the day - but again this is NOT the apartment complexes fault or issue. If you're interested in renting here, come take a tour of an empty unit and meet the manager - I promise these bizarre terrible reviews will make zero sense to you afterwards! =)"
"Jo and Christina have been fantastic with helping me move in a short period of time for a new job. They went way beyond my expectations and really cared about creating a positive experience for me and my son. Moving is stressful, but they did everything they could to make it go smoothly. The apartments are historical, unique and fun. The property was originally designed to create a campus feel, brick and quad included. Painted brick inside and high ceilings, what's not to love! No cookie cutter apartments here. If a warehouse, loft feel interests you, this is the place. Lots of green space for gathering and to walk my dogs, great amenities and community activities. I can't wait for the shops to open this fall! Thank you Jo and Christina!"
