Reviews of Station House
"Agreed that lack of communication during those wandering strangers visits was awful, and yes the urination of pets is causing unpleasant smells. But Jenny and Raven were inefficient and unpleasant in the office so many residents avoided the office. The location is increasing in crime, hence the problems with the garage. City Paper gave a scathing review of the building in 2019."
"This building is NOT SAFE! Resident since March 2020. Management allows homeless people to wander the building from days to weeks at a time and cars get stolen from our “secure” parking garage they charge $250/month for. In January of 2023, a homeless woman was living inside of the building for two full weeks and wasn’t removed until she attacked a resident. In July 2023, another homeless person was wandering and living inside the building for almost a week. I encountered this person in my hallway trying to open the front door to my apartment and others in my hallway. I informed management, to which I was told the police had already looked for him without luck, so they left without removing him. Additionally in July 2023, a car was stolen from the resident garage that costs $250/month to park in. After these July incidents, management sent out an email and put the onus of security on us residents, saying it’s our responsibility to not allow other people to follow us into the building and to not allow cars to follow us into the garage. It’s pretty appalling that a “luxury” apartment is telling the residents to risk their safety to run security for them. Management has NEVER sent out emails informing or warning residents of these specific issues. I assume there are far more incidents I am not aware of, as the only reason I know of these is because I was in the lobby passing through as police are leaving or other residents are reporting the issues. I also called management after the incident I witnessed in January to inquire about security and was told I would be contacted, but no such contact ever occurred. If you value a safe environment this building is not for you."
"There has been a dog that urinates on the floor outside the 6th floor elevator for OVER A YEAR. Management won't do anything about it other than mop it up every now and then and shampoo the carpet near (where it's not urinating) to try to mask the smell. It's foul all year round but come DC summer the humidity makes the whole floor smell toxic. The metal area where the dog urinates has now rusted too."
"i’ve been here for a year now and The events they host here are amazing! we just had a margarita and guacamole event today and it was perfect timing after a long day at work. freshly made margaritas and custom made guacamole and both were yummy! I’m never leaving!"
"The building and apartments are really beautiful, I love the location, and they organize a lot of events. They even have a jaccuzi! The indoor greenhouses are my favorites. Luckily, I haven't encountered any of the things that other reviewers complainted about (Airbnb guests, mice, roaches...), but I have found the management to be very frustrating. I started paying rent before moving in and ordered some furniture during a President's Day sale. It arrived on the earlier side of the delivery window, before I did. As a result, I received stressful emails from management saying that if I didn't collect the furniture or send a friend to within 24 hours, my shipments would be returned. This ended up being resolved. When I arrived to move in, there weren't any keys ready for me. Because I hadn't let the management team know I hit traffic and was running late, they didn't leave a key with the concierge team and I almost couldn't move into my apartment even though I had movers on their way. Even though I had already paid rent for the month, I would have had to find another place to stay at the last minute. A security guard told me to pull into the garage even though the entrance was not high enough, causing $400+ worth of damages to the U-Haul. When I told the management office that, they said he was a third party contractor. But he was still working for them! I assumed he knew how high the clearance was. What a mess. The common areas are so beautiful but they seem to be more to look at then for actual use. There is just a wooden bench in front of the indoor fireplace, no comfortable chairs. They don't have a garbage or recycling. My last Bozzuto place had a gorgeous library. They don't have one here, and I really miss it. My old building also had great biweekly complementary gym classes, whereas Station House only has yoga. Their exercise equipement isn't as good either--they don't have real Peloton bikes or step machines. :( The above-mentioned issues are relatively minor but the part that is driving me crazy is that I have contacted them SEVEN times about maintenance issues, and have still gotten nowhere. I got a call yesterday afternoon saying they would be by at 9AM this morning and they never showed up. I was asked to submit a list of things that need to be fixed within 24 hours of moving in and I never heard back. I have asked the management office, concierge team, sent maintenance requests, sent an email and even called the hotline and still nothing. At this point, it's ridiculous. My email went unanswered. At my old Bozzuto managed building, if you didn't hear back from maintenance about a request within 24 hours, you got free rent until you did. If this were Station House's policy, I wouldn't have to pay rent for a week. I can't use my bathtub and the tiles weren't clean when I moved in. It's like pulling teeth to get them to respond to anything. Very frustrating. That's a shame because it's such a gorgeous building."
