"Cons: Destination fee that is mandatory leaves no choice but to have breakfast at the local restaurant. Asked about parking cost and it was $65. Saw the bill with $75. Apparently they determined the vehicle to be oversized and didn’t explain me this upfront. Could not find any policy explaining the conditions for the vehicle to be oversized on the website. And these charges aren’t communicated to the guest. Feel this is not a fair practice. Pros: location is close to main sightseeing areas, nice rooms, beautiful interior."
"I was there for a work trip and the entire experience was wonderful! Check in with Mahmoud Abdalla was welcoming and efficient! The room was appointed beautifully and was immaculate. Annette did a wonderful job refreshing the room each day: it was evident that she takes great pride in her work. She also helped an issue I had with my dress/suit. The staff at Anthem were terrific and the breakfast was delicious! I felt very safe at the hotel and would definitely stay there again. Thank you!"
"Stayed 2 nights at the Marriot on business. Accommodations were terrific, and the restaurant on site was good. Hotel is located close to some diverse restaurants and bars, and is convenient to the subway system. Be prepared to open your wallet, being so close to these amenities is not cheap. Can someone please explain why I always get the handicap accessible rooms ? I really don't need all those bars in the bathroom."
"My partner and I stayed here on a Saturday-Monday trip to visit friends in the area. Overall, a very nice stay and I’d stay here again in the future. We arrived early (12:30pm) and were able to get into our room right away, and due to my Platinum status were upgraded to an executive suite. The hotel did not seem too busy this weekend and I get the sense it is more of a weekday conference/business traveler hotel so your experience may vary on upgrade availability. We also got a $30 daily dining credit for on-site restaurants which was a nice perk as well. Overall, nice smooth check-in experience with friendly desk workers. The suite was spacious, clean, and quiet and had lots of windows for nice natural light. Bed was comfortable. Only two minor gripes: 1) it was a bit tricky to get the shower to a good temperature as it would transition right from too hot to too cold (at least for my preference). But I only took a couple of very short showers so it didn’t matter much. 2) Bed only had a nightstand on one side. Not a problem if you’re traveling alone but not so good for a couple. Even a very small shelf for my glasses, phone, and a glass of water would have been a plus. Gym was nice with lots of equipment; FYI there are two levels with a staircase connecting them inside the gym - my partner missed that initially and was confused to not find a weight rack on the floor you enter on. Only used the lounge briefly a couple of times but it had a nice selection of desserts in the evening and breakfast options in the morning as well as drinks. The attendant working at the door at breakfast was very nice. Starbucks in the lobby was very convenient to grab coffee in the morning without going out in the cold."
"This is a fine hotel, but the details keep it from being 5 stars. The rooms are fairly nice, and the hotel itself is nice, but they're cutting corners on small things that become annoying. For example, the Kleenex in the room are sandpaper. Does that normally matter? No, not really, but if you happen to be sick when you're there like I was, then days of sandpaper tissues gets annoying quickly. And there are other similar details for other parts of the room experience. Much of the food is the same way. It's fine, but it's not amazing. There are annoying gaps in service as some of the restaurants transition from breakfast to lunch. When I was there, the mobile app was also initially down and you couldn't order via phone either. Some of the items that are listed on the app (when it started working later in the week) were unavailable when you tried to add them to your cart. I'm not sure why they appear if they're out of stock. Again, not a big deal, but not 5 stars. Same thing for the conference rooms. They're fine, but the walls are too thin and it's easy to hear any event next to you with amplified speaking. Not unusual at most conferences, but the top hotels have better sound control. I would stay here again, but know the limits going in."
