"I’m a current resident in my 3rd year at Glen Burnie Town Apartments, during which time the management, ownership and maintenance has changed often. These frequent changes led to a lot of residents being left in the dark on updated door codes, office hours, and parking protocols. But my main grievance is one I have in common with all of the residents at this property: terrible maintenance. My first major issue was a poorly installed mirror that cracked. They tried to claim I was to blame for it, but backed down when I offered to have a second eye come in to determine if the crack was due to installation issues. My AC has had a freon leak since I moved in in 2021, which caused constant freezing while the thermostat rested at only 75 degrees. In response to my first complaint I was told that I wouldn’t have my a/c fixed because it wasn’t “AC season”. This was during a heat wave in the beginning of summer 2022. The maintenance tech was aware the coils had to be replaced that year, but failed to document this fact. A year later I’m still having my a/c break down and run out of Freon. It's been months since I was told they were ordering coils, and have received no update on when they might arrive. This year when they reconfirmed that I needed new coils, I overheard them ask my maintenance guy how long the unit can go without the replacement. He replied ‘a few days', yet I haven't seen that maintenance guy again. And of course I'm not allowed to have a window AC unit installed, so I'm fighting heatstroke in my own home. My washer is broken and filled with water (yes stagnant water that I cannot drain myself) without any definite dates on when I will be receiving a fix or replacement. Tickets are never answered until I call the office 4 times at least, while my rent has increased by 100 dollars a month each year. For what? I’m already over paying for a “renovated” unit that is no different from the normal units besides the appliances, but trust me it’s not worth it. The initial price for rent was cool and actually worth the property but with an overall decrease in maintenance quality and even that of the exterior property, I wonder where the money is going. There was also a time where the wooden walkways were warping pretty bad, and they solved it by nailing 2x4s against it. It’s safe to say minimizing expenses is a priority. Please be sure to visit and tour before making the decision to move in. It will save you the time and money I can’t get back, and you’ll avoid the mistake I made."

"Went for a showing on this location for a one bedroom apartment. Ryan was very help and polite. He did a great job on showing the property. However the property is not all that fantastic. I was quoted a monthly rate for over $1600 with parking fee of $30. Then there is utilities and also also an unheard of $20 management fee for key fobs. Getting moved in would have been the hardest part. The complex is just not accommodating for a simple move in. The only thing going for this apartment is location. It is perfectly located near a super market and eateries. The local super market is a super short walk, but it is prices are high. The common area area could use a lot of TLC. It would take little work to improve the look. When you see rust discoloration on the concrete, it looks trashy. When the paint job on the door of the show unit is incomplete and brush work is sloppy, it makes it look trashy. On the inside the paint job was just as bad. I could actually see where the painter missed the wall and brushed part of the floor. The upgrades to the unit were kind of weak. The fridge is at best $350 as well as cook range and microwave. The rent should be much lower."
"Lived here for 2-3 years. Do yourself a favor and keep looking! Elevator was broken frequently—-terrible for the walker dependent elderly and wheelchair dependent disabled that live there. The building has some serious structural integrity issues, as confessed to us by a former leasing manager. The building is built over their parking garage. The side of our building would shake every time someone would open the gate to enter. Often times there would be an issue with their trash removal as the trash shutes would clog. Then bags of trash would pile up in the trash rooms which have attracted mice. The ventilation between apartments is connected and you can smell it in your apartment every time your neighbor smokes indoors. Each winter there was a major pipe that broke, which flooded tenants’ apts. And forget about having maintenance or mgmt address any issues. They can’t keep their employees; if you spoke to them you’d know it’s because they are mistreated by the company. The so called security amenity is inconsistent, plus people leave the door to the back stairs propped open anyway. One time I found a homeless guy sleeping there! The list goes on & on.... Save your time & money!!! Look elsewhere!"
"Having lived in Glen Burnie apartments of several varieties in the last 10 years (from renting peoples' basements to section 8 living and so on) Glen Burnie Town Apartments has been the nicest apartment community I've lived in yet. So much so that I don't really see any point in leaving until I'm ready to take the next step in my living situation such as buying a house or condo. Assuming you are a generally self-sufficient type of person, the units are spacious (originally designed for wheelchair access and mobility of the elderly so doorways, hallways and bathrooms are extra large) and amenities are newer than those often found in the 1970s construction of other apartment communities (so newer sinks, toilets, cabinets and countertops). It's nice. Unfortunately there have been some issues with management inasmuch as it appears the longer term residents of the community are unfairly harsh on each new face that arrives. We've gone through quite a few in the last 3 years, and every one of them has been courteous and capable in the role, however a very specific set of original community residents very quickly swoop in with demands of community refurbishments and complaints that never seem to change. Not sure what the deal is there, honestly, other than the fact that these people are elderly, home most of the time and therefore (potentially) more sensitive to consistent issues that never get the chance to be addressed. On my front, the community has been pleasant, with people mostly keeping to themselves but not at all unfriendly. The inner courtyard layout is nice as it provides a sense of escape from the hustle and bustle of the world outside the community and simply seems quieter. Maintenance has been a little hit or miss as maintenance staff seems to change with each new manager coming in, but in general issues that have been brought up have been quickly addressed and the 24-hour call center has always been appreciated for those emergency maintenance needs. With a fenced off parking area and badge reader access to main doors, the building stands out among the general accessibility of other Glen Burnie apartments and definitely lends to peace of mind in regards to security (and having had my car broken into at other apartment communities, it's appreciated to have a more secure space in which to park). The community is also in the epicenter of Glen Burnie, with walking a very realistic option in regard to eating at restaurants, visiting bars, grocery shopping or access to public transportation (light rail and bus are both right around the corner). To date I most enjoy walking to Honey Bee Diner in the mornings for a delicious breakfast and coffee! I have 2 pet bunnies in my unit and the management seems to be perfectly happy about their presence. One of them chewed up the corner of the carpet in the dining area (which is currently makeshift bunny space) and I spoke with the current manager about it, to which she seemed thankful I was proactive on the matter and instructed me on proper course of action to address the damage without cost to myself and ensuring no compromise of the security deposit, which is stellar. No community is ever 100% perfect, especially in Glen Burnie which is on the lower end of middle incomes at its best, thus most apartment and even condo complexes are low end to account for the generally poorer demographics of the area. Glen Burnie Town Apartments bucks the trend, however, and while pricier than the other complexes I've lived in, it's not that much more expensive. However it is a limited occupancy community with only 55 units, which is great for residents to retain general quiet and peacefulness but makes it difficult to get in if you're unlucky on standing residency within the community. Still worth looking into, though, should you be moving into Glen Burnie and looking for a nicer, newer apartment community with plenty of peace and quiet despite being in the epicenter of Glen Burnie."
