"I’m a new resident and I really didn’t enjoy some of the leasing office’s service. I had an incorrect amount posted on my rent account. I went to the office regarding this matter not less than 5 times, they kept saying it will get fixed but it didn’t. I even tried calling the office, still no help. Now it’s the time to pay the rent again, the incorrect amount is still pending……….. I understand they went through an owner shift and had to reorganize the website and other infos, but the issue is still not getting fixed after so long just pisses me off."
"I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding a recent experience with the new apartment management. Today, we are required to pay our rent, a process we have been handling smoothly for almost three years. However, due to the malfunctioning payment page on the website under the new administration, we encountered significant difficulties. Upon contacting the administration, my husband spoke with an individual who, regrettably, displayed a rude and arrogant attitude. We were informed that if we couldn't make the payment today, a 10% fee would be imposed if paid tomorrow, amounting to an additional $180. This was communicated with apparent indifference, as if disregarding the inconvenience caused. What exacerbates the situation is that no alternative solutions were provided, despite the issue originating from the administration's end with the dysfunctional website. Consequently, my husband had to take time off from work, go to the bank, and then proceed to make the payment in person. The whole process resulted in significant lost hours of work and additional inconveniences. It is disheartening to experience such a lack of understanding and assistance from the new administration, whose role should be to facilitate and resolve tenant issues. I sincerely hope that swift action will be taken to address this matter, and that future interactions will be more efficient and considerate."
"Old building with lots of problems and a premium rent. Maintenance requests are resolved without addressing the issue. AC units produce stale and musty air. Our first floor unit flooring is chipping and has gaps. Please do not consider moving into these apartments."
"We lived in a renovated 2nd floor unit past 2 years. We didn't find any issues except the non renovated flooring.. You will experience worst flooring which will vibrate and produce annoying cracking sounds even if you walk normally. You will hear knocking sounds from downstair senior neighbor even for walking ,for having guests at your home, using mortar & pestal, using butcher knife or cut veggies, drop something accidently, trying new shoes etc.... You will have to face 911 police often. The previous management didn't address any of our concerns and hence we decided not to renew the lease. The hardwood floor units need major renovation especially with floors.. You will regret for leasing the apartment:("
"I lived at westerly for 3 years 2018-2021. It is the shady thrift store of apartments, management and neighborhoods. I would recommend a westerly apartment for new graduates and young teen adults willing to live with several roommates. For adults aged mid 20s or older, the immaturity of the neighbors and the infancy of the apartment management is blatantly intolerable. Recommendations: Be aware of the deep facade, and look beyond the shallow cosmetics. Westerly management, will be artificially friendly and seductive before you sign the lease. The staged apartments are cosmetically very appealing. When functionality is paramount, Westerly will surely fall short of your basic human needs. Enter a Westerly leasing agreement only after consulting an attorney. The management representatives will be cold, unforgiving, and will wield every legal term. You will be punished for everything, and treated as a hostile monetary threat. The lease includes a blanket loophole to change everything you signed, except cost, by way of “community rules”. Those friendly and seductive representatives will become hostile psuedo-lawyers instantly, rendering no effective helpful action. Record, Video, and Document every detail, every interaction, and every inch of the allocated unit. Retain all documentation, and retain all notifications. Submit all communications exclusively in writing. Make duplicates where possible. Westerly representatives will make several undelivered promises. You will be required to follow-up on everything. Do not accept an apartment on the top floor. 4th floor apartments will require window AC units. Management will make no attempt to resolve any issue with Air Conditioning. “The [HVAC] units on the 4th floor are at capacity, and there is nothing we can do” -C. Harris, Property Manager. Do not own a vehicle, do not invite any guests with vehicles, and do not go on vacation. Westerly leverages a vile predatory tow company. You and your guests will be towed for everything. The tow policies will change without your consent or notification and retrieving your vehicle will be subject to every fee and fine. Typical tow costs $185/day, no exceptions. Be aware that the neighborhood building numbers (addresses) overlap several times. Consequently, Food services like grub hub, door dash, uber as well as package deliveries including Amazon, will inevitably end up on the wrong door step. There is an Amazon Hub, but not all Amazon packages fit in the hub."
