Reviews of Broadview Apartments
"I moved in last April, and I have to say, the summer is good, but deadly cold in the winter. I don't know why they don't offer heat and the new air conditioner works not so well. I asked my friends who have lived here for many years, and they said sometimes it works for a couple of days and is gone soon. My suggestion is, it should be working through all winter. (Now is 26 F, and the central heater is still off)"
"I lived here for a year from 2022 to 2023. I am coming back many months later to post this review because I was reminded of how poor of an experience I had living here. Starting out, the day I was supposed to move in, they didn't give me my keys until 4pm, and all my stuff was just sitting in the moving van, with my helpers also just sitting around. I had less than two hours to unload the van because I got the keys so late. In the end, the apartment was relatively clean and not too bad. When winter rolled around, I realized the heat wasn't on. They told me they only turn on the heat if it's BELOW 32F outside. We were expected to use our window units to heat the large apartment. My electricity bill was $200 in December thanks to that. The window units were also terrible at keeping the place warm and of course my bathroom was always freezing. I complained multiple times to the management to no avail. They expect the residents to suffer so they don't have to pay for the heat. Throughout my time living here, I had to leave my apartment because of a fire alarm at least 5 times. A few times in the middle of the night. Every time they were frivolous alarms. The fire department would come by and tell us to go back home. Overall, the management is sleazy and will try to make money off of you whenever possible. I consider myself very lucky that I got my security deposit back in full. I have also lived at the Marylander Apartments on St Paul St. Though the apartments are older, they have been renovating them. There are monthly water shutoffs during the day, but at least the apartment is warm in the winter. I recommend them over Broadview Apartments any day."
"don’t live here if you expect complaints about other residents constant noise to be taken seriously.. the people above my partners apartment have been a constant blight.. when you’ve tried civility, contacting management, contacting the authorities and are disregarded or blown off? what are you supposed to do? just keep giving them your money and accept unlivable conditions i guess. there seems to be a complete unwillingness to tackle valid complains and the burden of proof is on you.. it’s come to the point where my partner is having to uproot their entire life and find a new place short notice because of this buildings unwillingness to deal with an obvious issue. to the people who end up with the apartment they're in after they’re gone? enjoy constant disturbances and a poor quality of life.. good luck!"
"There are bats, mice, and roaches living in the walls that enter your apartment through the vents/holes in the walls that the maintenance team will leave unattended for weeks at a time. The management team do not help if there are any issues that come up *after signing the lease*. You could follow up every single day over email and in person for a month straight and they still would not address your problem. I would recommend living in the Carlyle, Marylander, and Hopkins House. They have much better building upkeep so you’re less likely to run into problem in the apartment and their management team are much more qualified and responsive. Its so stressful and frustrating living here."
"The Broadview apartment building holds a truly unique charm. To begin, it's not just a place to live; it's a tightly-knit community where residents have forged deep connections, evolving into a close-knit family over the years. During my stay here, I've encountered a vibrant mix of young students relishing their early adult years and mature adults who gladly engage in conversations with anyone within the vicinity, be it staff, visitors, contractors, or fellow residents. The atmosphere exudes warmth and camaraderie. And let's talk about the amenities; they are nothing short of exceptional. From a dedicated mail room for hassle-free deliveries to a well-equipped daycare children's room, a game room, a theater room, multiple conference rooms, a business center, a convenient laundry facility, a secure bike cycle room, and an expansive garage area - it truly caters to every need. With 14 floors, including a couple of penthouses, the opulent brown marble interior greets you upon entry, complete with lobby carts for convenience and a welcoming on-site office staff. One delightful aspect is the cherished relationships formed with the wonderful pets of fellow residents. The building also boasts a captivating marble and rock-themed driveway at one entrance, while the other entrance features a lounge and a gym, perfect for fitness enthusiasts. You'll find four generously stocked vending machines on the first floor, offering an array of snacks, food, and beverages, right across from the Property Management's office area. In this space, a coffee machine and microwave stand beside a sizable fridge, ensuring that all your needs are met. While the building exudes an antique charm, it seamlessly integrates modern technology, embodying luxury and sophistication. Situated in the heart of East Baltimore, it enjoys proximity to various shopping centers and the prestigious Johns Hopkins University. Nestled amidst a highly-rated neighborhood, it shares its surroundings with other charming buildings and thriving businesses. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend the Broadview apartment building to those seeking a new residence in Baltimore."
