Reviews
"Toured the property and was impressed with the design, details, and overall kindness of the staff. Great gym, amenity spaces, and pool for spring/summer. I cannot say I understand some of the negative reviews. The Fetch package information is clearly outlined in the costs. All brand new buildings come with some growing pains and that is to be expected. Package theft and delivery complications have shown to be a challenge at large apartment complexes. I actually find that Fetch is a worth while cost to ensure safe and coordinated delivery of items. Thanks for a great tour. This is a hidden gem of a community with easy access to the metro, ample parking, in a quiet neighborhood."
"Unfortunately, moving into this building was a big mistake for me. I want to tell you about my time in this "luxury" apartment complex. My quick advice is: stay away! The services you pay for is very poor. I agree with all the bad things people have said about it, but not the good things. I think it's best to avoid living here. I recommend to avoid it. The management team responds to each piece of goole review with a request to direct message them. Despite my numerous attempts to communicate and address issues, the responses I received were unhelpful and did not lead to any resolution. 1. Construction dust in apartment: All the carpets in my apartment, and presumably in others throughout the building, are deeply saturated with construction dust. Prior to moving in, I explicitly communicated my concerns regarding several dust allergies in an email, requesting a thorough cleaning of the apartment, which wasn’t obviously done. In an attempt to mitigate the situation, I invested in a professional-grade vacuum cleaner, which cost $300, but even after vacuuming the entire apartment three times with this equipment, the dust remains pervasive. My efforts to maintain a clean and healthy living environment have been thwarted by the sheer amount of residual construction dust. Subsequently, I approached the management with a request for carpet replacement, hoping it would alleviate the issue, but this request was denied, leaving me in a challenging and uncomfortable living situation. This situation is particularly concerning for me as I suffer from severe allergies, and the excessive dust is adversely affecting my health. My allergies have gotten worse since I moved in. My cough is aggravated and my breathing is affected. I have chest tightness and severe shortness of breath. This is a critical matter for my health and well-being. Given these conditions, individuals with dust allergies should avoid this place to prevent exacerbating their health issues. 2. Fetch: Delivery services like Amazon, FedEx, and UPS can't access the building directly. Instead, we're forced to use the Fetch service, adding an unnecessary layer and resulting in delays and lost packages. This is absolutely useless service, a layer between residents and carriers, google it first. Packages delayed every time, sometimes they lose packages. My package was lost during my first week of my residency in the building. Moreover, I spent a few days chasing it and trying to locate it. I wasted a lot of my time! Makers rise management aware of the issue and resident concerns, but not going to take actions on it. 3. Internet: Residents are limited to a single internet service option, akin to what one might find in a hotel. The only available network is Whitesky-Makers, which everyone is required to use and pay $65 for. Unfortunately, there is no flexibility to upgrade or even reset the connection as individual routers are not provided, limiting control over internet quality and reliability. Makers rise management not going to take actions on it as well. 4. Noise: The building's thin walls significantly compromise privacy and tranquility. This lack of sound insulation means that everyday noises from neighboring apartments, such as conversations and the sound of dogs barking, are easily heard within my unit. Additionally, a persistent issue with the ventilation system results in constant knocking sounds, which occur permanently even throughout the night and early morning hours, at times like 2am, 3am, 5am etc. This disturbance has made it necessary for me to use earplugs as the only means to achieve uninterrupted sleep. Despite raising this issue with the maintenance team and filing a service request, I was informed that the problem cannot be resolved since the noise originates from a flapper outside of the unit, and thus will be a permanent fixture of living here. To add to the disturbance, each morning at 7am, the loud noise of a garbage truck, which resembles the sound of an explosion. Yes, this a brand new, “luxury” apartment called makers rise. Avoid it!"
"Usually people take the time to leave bad reviews so i wanted to take the time to leave a positive review. My experience with Maker's Rise, from the beginning, has been amazing. Extremely responsive and professional. Especially Nora and Erin. I just moved in and love all the amenities here and how convenient it is to everything especially the metro station."
"Shaquera was my leasing agent and did a wonderful job helping me move into this property along with Erin & Nora. Staff has always been helpful anytime I've had needed assistance with anything. Building is brand new, unit quality is very nice. It's a quiet community, super close to everything. I would definitely recommend moving here if you're interested."
"The leasing staff and management at this building are a complete joke. I concur with other reviews about lack of professionalism and responsiveness from staff. It took us two months to finalize our move in details after calling, emailing, showing up in person, time and time again with the most basic customer service requirements being thrown out the window. If it was not for us pressing them each step of the way I don’t know if we would even have a solidified apartment quote by this point. Once we were moved in we were treated as second class citizens, I mean they’ve already got our money so why provide any sense of respect or comfort after our terrible experience with them prior to this point? Customer service from staff/managers (Erin/Nora) continues to get worse by the day. The building is decent but the staff are like Lord of the Flies running the playground. Do not make the mistake of moving here. Just a genuine heads up on what you are in for choosing Maker’s Rise. Whatever they say below about contacting the office to resolve is completely bogus. We have been in communication with them for a long time which resorted to this post being made publicly, extremely limited details are being provided to give an idea of what it has been like dealing with this building. Response to Comment below: Nothing about the way your office operates is active. Actually it is the polar opposite of active. Thanks though for disregarding us yet again! Have a great day."
