"I have been using services at Beaver County Pathways for 5 years. When I first started I wasn’t much into it at all but it turned out I found the best therapist ever who quickly became one of my favorite all time people. She has helped me overcome so many life obstacles and has always been a good listening ear. I have gotten the privilege to talk to and form connections with many of the ladies in the office aside from my therapist alone and all of them have made a positive impact on the young adult I have become. Their office is a very welcoming environment, I have and will certainly continue to recommend them to anyone I encounter seeking treatments now and in the future. Thank you Pathways!"
"I’m writing this review out of frustration with a recent experience I had with Beaver County Pathways Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, Ambridge and it is my hope that this encourages changes in the ways the staff communicates with patients and families. Over the past month, I have had several difficulties with getting my son’s ADHD medication filled. My son is a new patient, we have attended our scheduled monthly appointments and have been communicative about needs. Most recently, Kristen, the Medication Liaison claimed that I needed to make an appointment to get his prescription refilled, which I advised her that the doctor informed us during our last appointment in November that he would see us in a couple of months. Kristen is rude, judgmental and has challenged the information that I received from the pharmacist and insurance a month prior. When we needed my son’s medication one day early because we were going to Florida for 10 days, she said, “I typically do not have to call the insurance company and pharmacy to give approval,” even though both parties, during a 3-way call, informed me that this is the protocol. She also challenged the information that I relayed to her from Dr. Peace who stated that my child should wait a few months for his next visit to see how he reacts to the new medication dose. I am constantly following up with Kristen regarding my son's medication and she has a history of being non-responsive and confrontational. Kristen failed to return my phone calls over the course of several days all of which caused delays with my son getting his medication and he ultimately had to go without it for a few days over the holidays. The Director, Valerie, intervened when Kristen did not want to deal with me challenging her and expressing how unprofessional she is. As a result, I requested to no longer communicate with Kristen regarding this matter. Valerie said she would ensure the prescription was ready by Friday when the doctor came back into the office. I called the office Friday morning because the pharmacy had not received it and was told Valerie was on vacation and would not return until after the new year. I left a voicemail with Kristen because the lady at the front desk advised me that Kristen would be the only person that could assist me. Kristen of course did not follow up and return my phone call or refill my son’s prescription, when she was already made aware that we had no meds left. No patient nor parent should have to go through so much difficulty with getting a medication refilled. This should be a seamless process. I’m frustrated that the staff treated me as if I didn’t know what I was talking about, despite my advocacy efforts and making it clear that I was following the recommendations from the pharmacist, insurance, and Dr. Peace. Beaver County Pathways has been inconsistent with communication, they lack professionalism, and have failed to meet my child’s needs. The mission of Beaver County Pathways Behavioral Health and Wellness Center states, “We believe in providing services that will help our patients to maintain and improve their health and well-being in a non-judgmental environment” and I certainly feel like my last few encounters are not consistent with the mission."
"I have been trying to get my meds changed for a month now, called and talked to someone 4 times... Never the doctor. Dr Tim told me to call if they didn't work. Update: got my new sleep meds, thanks a ton!"
"Ive been coming here for years and the staff is truly one of a kind. These are exactly the kind of people the mental health field needs more of! I had almost given up any hope of ever finding decent treatment and living my best life ever and decided to give one more place a try- best decision ever! Even though I relocated and live in the city now I gladly put up with the traffic and trade convenience for the superb treatment care and consideration I get at Pathways. EVERYONE ive ever dealt with here from the front desk to the doctor has gone above and beyond in helping me, supporting me, answering any questions or concerns I have and are truly compassionate and want to help others. Everyone seeking mental health treatment should be treated with the dignity and respect that are always the standard here at Pathways."
"***DO NOT GO HERE. ***AVOID AT ALL COSTS As many other reviews on here state, there were multiple occasions when they didn't refill my medications and as a mental health patient, this had extremely detrimental effects. They are extremely unprofessional and disorganized. Multiple times, when I was able to get them on the phone (this regularly took many calls over as long as two weeks - which is unacceptable in the mental health field) they would claim that I had missed an appointment, which in these cases I hadn't, and that was the reason for my lack of prescription refills. Once, they flat out admitted that they had made a mistake and not refilled them. There were multiple times that they called to cancel my appointment (yet another topic that isn't acceptable in mental health) and when I called to reschedule (which again took as long as two weeks just to get them on the phone) they'd deny cancelling on me even though I told them that I had the voicemail from them in which they cancelled. I admitted to missing one appointment of my own fault. They were either so disorganized that they didn't even know that they had cancelled the other appointments or they were that dishonest. My last issue was that during a mental health episode, my wife called to schedule an appointment for me. This wasn't a 911 level episode or a trip to the hospital level episode, but was significant enough, nonetheless. The woman on the phone said that she could only speak with me. Not only had I filled out an intake form that gave them permission to speak to my wife, but on the phone that day I was able to speak to them enough to say, "I give you my permission to speak to my wife about this matter and schedule an appointment for me. Im in no condition to speak with you right now," THEY REFUSED. Their reason was repeated stated as they only would speak to me. Is this the most ridiculous thing that you've ever heard??? We weren't even expecting an immediate appointment, just the next available. THEY REFUSED A MENTAL HEALTH PATIENT AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE HE WASN'T IN ANY CONDITION TO SPEAK TO THEM ON THE PHONE - EVEN WITH WRITTEN AND VERBAL PERMISSION TO SPEAK TO MY WIFE SO SHE COULD MAKE ME AN APPOINTMENT. The rudeness, and above all, unprofessionalism here is out of this world. Add to that, the office is in beyond shabby condition. Its apparent that they do not take the practice seriously. We even received a call back from the owner of the practice to discuss the matter and she could not have been more rude and ill informed. She told me that I was dismissed from their practice and not to come back - ALL BECAUSE I ASKED MY WIFE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME. We are currently back and forth with the state licensing board, are filing an official complaint, and have initiated steps to file a lawsuit against them."
