WVU Medicine Urgent Care - Suncrest

"The past few experiences I’ve had here have been awful. I’ve been stereotyped as a dumb 20 something white girl who has no idea what’s going on or how things work, and I have not been taken seriously at all. Most recently, I went in because I wasn’t feeling well and the doctor told me I was probably just dehydrated (then proceeded to explain dehydration to me like I was a seven year old.) A few days later and I’m positive for covid. The quality of care here has seriously gone downhill in the past ~5 years. The office staff/nurses are super nice, but the providers are a joke."

"I’ve been to many urgent cares including ones for WVU and this one I appreciated the least. Firstly I was pregnancy tested without my knowledge and was told ‘’whoever comes in we get your automatic consent for one it’s on the door’’ which I did not see posted anywhere. As a doctor you should always be clear and inform what tests you are running on a patient I believe. This has never been the case for any other WVU facility I’ve been too so why is it the case for this one? I felt it was an invasion. Secondly I felt very pressured to get STD tested after I claimed many times I am more than 1000% sure I don’t have one but was still continuously pulled to the side Atleast four time’s encouraging me to get one. Keep in mind I went in for abdominal pain and swollen Lympnodes and stated more than once I have no other symptoms regarding my reproductive organs such as rashes, itchiness, spotting, etc etc. it felt very odd to me that I was constantly getting told I should get one when that was never my initial concern what so ever and still no diagnoses after my visit."

"Went here couple weeks ago for severe ear pain. After explaining how severe the ear pain was she barely looked said everything looks fine and prescribed me cough medicine when I had zero cough! Had zero concern on the reason I was there didn’t let me talk. was in and out of the room within few minutes the worst visit I’ve had."

"The worst Doctors visit I’ve ever had in my lifetime!! The quack that they call a Doctor did no tests, no examination and said I have COVID only because I said I had exposure to it. He then said that he could give me a COVID test but even if it comes back negative, you’re still positive for COVID. So now my question is, how much $$ did the medical facility get for falsely diagnosing me with COVID? I will NEVER return to this facility, and if I ever get this Doctor again for anything, I’m walking out!!"

"I had a wonderful experience with the entire staff at my first visit to this facility. We visited for a non-emergent injury that my 7 year old needed to be seen for - we had a very short wait time, and Dr Cunanan and the rest of the team we encountered were very kind and helpful. Treating children with painful injuries isn’t always the easiest situation and they did their best to make him comfortable. This office has moved to the top of our list for urgent care needs."
