Reviews of Northwood Health Systems
"A year ago, I applied to Northwood, and at my interview I was upfront that I can only work part time. Tessa told me that would be okay and offered me the job as a therapist. After I began, she started to push me to work more hours. I told her that as I said upfront, I can only work part time. She was very rude and then began to treat me coldly, and unprofessionally. I talked to the supervisor about this, and she was going to discuss it with Tessa. Tessa was still hostile towards me, so I decided to find a new job. Gina told me the door would always be open. A year later I apply again, and they tell me they are not hiring when there are jobs online. I call down to the main office and HR tells me that they are indeed hiring and reads me the notes in his computer that because of my availability issues a year ago, they will look at other applicants first. I explained to him what really happened, and he documented this information. Tessa and Kara the other manager are not honest and I am glad HR know the truth of what really happened and how it is a hostile work environment in Weirton office. I also told Weirton that I know they are hiring and the truth of the situation and also that HR knows the whole story of what occurred. I would caution anyone from working here if Tessa is still employed. Employees should be respected, and the contract upheld that they agree on."
"This place is ridiculous they never answer the phone when you try to call for Important stuff and you get punished for them not doing their jobs if you miss a appointment! I'd love to get ahold of the actual people that run this place."
"I was there 3 days, I got there no staff member told me anything, the only reason I figured out when I was supposed to get up eat show up to group is because another patient told me. I was not told I needed to get over the counter medications approved by the NP till after I’d met with her, so I was not aloud to take my allergy meds (Zyrtec) or my vitamin D or Midol for my period cramps. All I was given for my crams was 2 ibuprofen, which did nothing for my cramps or the nausea or other period symptoms. I spent all day on bed because they wouldn’t give me my allergy meds, or Midol for period symptoms. The nurses wouldn’t let me explain what was going on, they continually would interrupt me and cut me off and not let me explain why I was frustrated and what my needs were. They eventually tried to give me something for my allergies which was Claritain which I’m allergic too. Which I told them multiple times. If I hadn’t looked at the cup with my meds in it I would’ve taken a medication I was Allergic too, because I looked at it and the pill was rounded not squared the way my Zyrtecs was, I pointed out it was Claritain and they were like yea that’s Claritain, I then got very upset to the point of yelling because they almost gave me a medication I’m severely allergic too. This place has 0 structure. If you have anxiety I don’t recommend going. My anxiety was so bad I was shaking all day and night and not sleeping. If I had to rank this place out of 10 I’d give them a 0/10. This was ridiculous."
"There operation is great however, I don't believe they understand the importance of the input and sharing of information to both parties. Rehab is the most important event a person must encounter of life..... after hours of events are a great part of rehab........ The partner of the individual going through rehab needs info and training on dealing with the greatest issue an person can deal with.......it takes a team to keep the person going through rehab engaged."
"Northwood Brooke is the absolute best place to start your new life sober! I was terrified when I was discharged from Reynolds memorial hospital and the staff went above and beyond. Even with my anger issues they still made me feel comfortable and loved. Every problem an addict can have they will try and help you find a solution. During my time there I decided not to get on suboxone and instead I did the vivitrol shot. Best decision of my life so far. I can still call them and get advice and do check in’s. I miss them deeply and I can say I love every staff member with my whole heart! Best place to go by far in WV!"
