Christian Laymen Thrift Store
About the Business
The Christian Laymen Thrift Store is a community-based nonprofit organization located at 258 East Pittsburgh Street in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to make the world a better place by serving residents in need in Greensburg and Westmoreland County. We rely on the support of our dedicated staff and volunteers to achieve our goals.
If you are passionate about helping others, we invite you to join our team as a volunteer. There are various ways to get involved, whether through monetary donations, donations of food, clothing, furniture, linens, household goods, or by spreading the word about our mission.
We are proud to announce the expansion of our Emergency Beds Program, thanks to a partnership with the Fayette Community Foundation. Children in Fayette County will now receive emergency beds through this initiative, made possible by a grant from the Pittsburgh PENGUINS Foundation.
At Christian Laymen Thrift Store, we are committed to improving the lives of those in our community by providing essential items such as beds for children, emergency food, clothing, household goods, linens, small appliances, furniture, and assistance to veterans in need. Your contribution directly supports these programs and makes a difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for your support.

"very nice people an so many pieces of furniture and lots of home goods i highly recommend to stop in and see for yourselfs best prices anywhere"
"This place is getting extremely frustrating, when sometimes you can find a deal on a item but then you find something you can use its marked at retail price. YOU ARE NOT A ANTIQUE DEALER! People come here because they might be able to afford something they need."
"Worst place to use for needy families . We had half of our voucher furniture stolen from the place by the person who wrote our vouchers and when we finally get a new place . Go to get vouchers because we never got half of our first ones and the lady who sits in the office says " well it says it was picked up and this is a one time thing " even though we wouldn't have a person writing us vouchers if we didn't recieve half of our vouchers in the first place . Lady was rude , didn't care , and most definitely wasn't looking to help . Wouldn't recommend anyone to this shop ."
"For the most part Christian Laymen was not a bad place to go, but the lady that checked me out after I was finished was ignorant and kept telling me that well your at 30$ as if I didn't have the $ to pay for what I was paying for. I also had 2 vouchers one for mattresses and one for clothes for my 2 boys and myself. I did not get her name but I would recognize her anywhere. There was no reason for her to be rude or ignorant to me. That is a place that helps people who can't afford to go other places to get what they need and I was told they would have brand new mattresses for my boys for their new beds well they take used donated beds and spray them. They did have brand new mattresses but I think I will try to find them else where cause that lady really upset me and made me feel like I was worthless. For a full size and a twin mattress would come to a little over 300$ for those. I am really upset with that lady and I was nice and she kept telling me that something I picked out was supposed to be more then the tag that was on it so like that was my fault. I didn't put it there and I found it with the makeup bags. Needless to say I probably won't be going back for a long time and if I do I will let someone know that I will not be made to feel like I'm worthless because I'm not the only person who has shopped at Christian Laymen and there's people with $ that go in there as well. If you can't be nice and treat people with dignity and respect cause they may be going through a rough time then don't work in customer service especially when it's to help those who need help."
"Love this place. Come here often for the ever changing selection. It is all lol run and 100 goes to help people. And they have a large book selection."
