"During our recent trip to Washington DC, my fiancé and I stayed in Carlyle, where we had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel was great, the rooms were comfortable, and the location was convenient. However, there was one unsettling incident involving the housekeeping service that left me feeling uneasy. One evening, upon returning to our room, I noticed that my laptop had visible dents on the edges. I was surprised to discover this, as I had left it charging on the floor in the kitchen area while we were out, leaning against the wall because it was the only available outlet at the time. I suspect that the housekeeper may have accidentally run into it with the vacuum cleaner. I immediately reported the incident to the front desk, and they referred me to the head of housekeeping, who promised to investigate and call me back. Unfortunately, we had to leave early the next morning, but I received a voicemail from the head of housekeeping informing me that he had spoken to the housekeeper, who denied having touched my laptop. However, given that there were other indications that the housekeeping service was not up to par - such as expired items in the fridge, un-replenished water after we drank it during the first day of our stay, and an open and sipped alcoholic drink from the previous guests - I am inclined to believe that my suspicions were well-founded. In conclusion, while our stay in Carlyle was enjoyable, the incident with the housekeeping service left me feeling dissatisfied and questioning the level of care and attention to detail provided by the hotel."

"Comfortable rooms, quiet area but a bit far from the subway and the centre. Very nice staff. We were charged twice: the hotel charged the credit card while the room was paid by our travel agency. As we are foreign tourists our bank charges a fee for operations abroad. Fortunately we were fully refunded quickly after our claim. However I recommend to check your bank account after your stay."

"Excellent four day visit. I like the combination of an updated older hotel. Everyone at the hotel was both very service oriented but also really friendly. Nice rooms and beds. Convenient location. Also enjoyed the wine happy hour. Only issue is that our room was somewhat close to the garbage pickup which brought some noise. Will stay here next time in dc"

"What a great stylish hotel this is. It not only has fabulous rooms with stylish bathrooms it has a great restaurant with fantastic good food. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a happy hour between 5-6pm with really good wines to try free of charge. The hotel is in a great neighbourhood with tree lined streets. Really worth a try."

"The hotel is in a nice neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants, the metro and some sites. Staff were friendly. I liked the room pretty spacious, included a kitchenette with a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. The kitchenette did not have any cutlery or dinnerware which was pretty surprising and disappointing. Housekeeping though polite kept forgetting to return the same number of items they took to change out. We started with 2 coffee mugs, 2 days later left us with only one. Same for the wash cloths and towels. Overall a good exeperience, it was my birthday at check in and they provided wine and cake which was really nice. I would stay there again."
