Holiday Inn Express Washington DC SW - Springfield, an IHG Hotel

"This is the most horrible hotel I’ve stayed at in all my 27 years of life. To keep it very brief and short. I noticed bed bugs and blood stains on the bed. I voiced my concerns because that’s absolutely disgusting and all the could compensate me was not 1 but 2 bottles of water!!! I’m not sure if the wanted me to drown myself and the bed bugs but hey. The bathroom was unclean and unkept. Staff is rude and not smart. I will never stay here ever again and suggest others don’t as well."

"Prejudiced. This hotel managed by Pakistan men were rude argumentative and disrespectful. I have been a member for 13 years. Incidentals are $50.00. On Christmas Day my credit card was depleted. I asked to pay in cash. I was told No but the incidentals increased to $150.00. The manager was a DOG. I am disabled and 68 years old. I had to call a family member for assistance. Furthermore, I had 26,000 Bonus points equivalent to 6 qualified FREE NIGHTS. HOLIDAY INN IN SPRINGFIELD VA TREATS BLACK PEOPLE WITH DISCRIMINATION."

"DO NOT STAY HERE. Overall it was a horrible stay. Apparently there is construction going on at the hotel on the 3rd floor but no one informs you of this when you check in. The genius’s who checked us in literally put us on the 4th floor in the room above where the construction is happening… keep in mind this is a hotel with 10+ floors but the staff needs us to stay literally right next to the construction?? We get to wake up first thing in the morning to hammering and all sorts of construction noise. I call the front desk and ask what’s going on and the woman who answers gives me attitude like I’m bothering her and this is my problem not the hotels. I just cant believe the terrible customer service and how they could be so inconsiderate to the guest. Shameful and incompetent staff, they do not have the best intentions for their guests. Overall the hotel is just terrible and outdated. The paint in peeling all over the place, the beds must be 15 years old as they are sunk in and offer zero support. It’s just a poorly run Holiday inn that should not be representing the IHG brand."

"My husband and I just stayed at this Holiday Inn and were very pleased with our choice. The staff at the front desk was super nice, professional and friendly. Good area, close to restaurants, and a shuttle to the Metro so we didn't even have to take our car into DC. Lovely breakfast with lots of choices. Definitely would stay there again!"

"Surprisingly good hotel that turned out to be bigger than expected and with lots of guests and events, which says good things about it! Good things: -Quality breakfast -Comfortable and big bed -Big and quiet (non-smoking) rooms -Outdoor swimming pool -Helpful and attentive staff -Plenty of businesses and restaurants at walking distance To improve: -Room service is a little slow (they made our room at 3pm) -Despite it is not disastrous, furniture and overall installations need renovation as they look quite old (not that matters for a good stay) They have some signs stating that they will renovate soon, so if they do, then probably when we are back I will simply switch to a 5 star review!"
