"Pros of this hotel: Walkable to a lot of things. There was always someone behind the front desk to help. The valets were always cordial. Reader beware: Be prepared to pay ~$50 per day to park your car, or to have a $50 per day hold on your card for incidentals. Being close to a traffic circle it is kind of loud at night. Cleanliness of the rooms or linens is not a priority. Something in the bed or sheets in our first room caused me extreme rash, itching, and general skin irritation that lasted the whole trip. The bathtub shower handle was also missing. We did request a move to a new room around 2am and were given a new one, which was an upgrade. I appreciate their response but felt unease and discomfort for the rest of the stay."
"I went with my club in the summer around June of 2023. This review is a little late but I must say my stay there was amazing. The pool and pool area was clean, and so were the rooms. The hotel by itself was beautiful, but it was the staff that made it even better. One in particular stood out. He was a kind, short black man. He truly made our stay. He gave us advice to go home with and was a warm face to see. I wish I knew his name but I wanted to say thank you for your kind words of inspiration and your help throughout the stay."
"My bf and I booked a 3-night stay at the plaza hotel in DC. While the location is great and provides about a 30 minute walk to the national mall, we agreed that this hotel is not what it pretends to be. It gives off the appearance of a fancy hotel. However, the first thing we noticed was that the garage parking is an outrageous $50 a night. Next, we tried to warm up our frozen dinners after a full day of driving, only to find out that there was no microwave in the room. When we asked at the front desk, we found out there are apparently no microwaves in the entire building. Obvious ploy to get people to spend money at the expensive hotel restaurant (no complimentary breakfast). When we went to breakfast at the restaurant the next morning, the service wasn't great, the food was overpriced. And, we came back to find one of the housekeepers in our room- she actually asked US if we could leave our own room for 20 minutes so she could finish. And she took our towels and didn't replace them. The service and the rooms are just not worth what you're paying. The elevator is in disrepair and there were cracks in our sink, and the room was small. You'd be better off at the Residence Inn across the street."
"Looks more impressive than it is. Average room but it does have a beautiful view if your room faces the pool. We had very inconsiderate neighbours that ruined our experience. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great given the cost of the room. Parking is extra and quite pricey."
