"A well-staffed store with experts at fitting kids’s shoes. Also had a good amount of inventory. Was worth the drive from DC!"
"If you have a white skin or you qualify as a "regular customer" then this a great shoe shop. Very wide selection of shoes. But mind you that buying six pairs of shoes in less than a year does not qualify you as a "regular" at this store and since there is really nothing you can do about skin colour you must reconsider your visit. You might be discriminated against during busy time. Today was one such day and I happened to be at the receiving end. The store has a policy that each staff member attends to one customer at a time and this rule is sacrosanct. I was asked to leave the store and wait outside because the staff couldn't go inside and pick a shoe for me. No fitting was needed as I knew what I wanted. However, when a white lady who was also a regular walked in she was welcomed inside even though none of the staffers were available. The rule was thrown out of the window. This customer referred to the assistant manager as the sweet Turkish guy and that did the trick. He smiled and let her along with me violating their sacrosanct rule. When I brought this to the store management's attention, I was told that I was creating a scene. There was no apology or acknowledgement of what went wrong. The assistant manager told me that it was okay if I didn't want to come again and smirked. He also mentioned that he has no history of my previous shoe purchases indicating that I wasn't important enough and hadn't earned the privilege of the regular status. Maybe I would have qualified as a "regular" by the end of this year but I won't bother after this experience. Please check your "regular" status and skin colour before visiting this store."
"Really great kids shoe store. Helpful and knowledgeable staff helped us identify the right size for my kid and some shoes he loves."
"Took my disabled son here on the recommendation of other parents in the disabled community. What a great place. Staff had the sort of knowledge we'd normally only find in professional physical therapists and occupational therapists. As thoughtful and knowledgeable as you could be about fitting shoes for kids with differences in gait, posture etc. Made me think there ought to be places like this in every city."
"racist employees and managers. I was taking my nephew to use their bathroom and I overheard these fitters saying very disgusting things that they want to do to the customers and their kids. I can't tell you how sickened I was. These people will literally smile in your face, but they're really talking filth about you when they go in the backroom to get your kids shoes. What also shocked me was how they have enough bathrooms but refused to let this child with an emergency use any. But they let me and other paying families to use their bathrooms. I regret ever bringing my nephews here. Never again will I come back"
