"Unable to get appointments in a timely manner, and the after waiting six months appointment is cancelled! This has happened numerous times."
"Why is it so hard to schedule an appointment for a physical. We have been using this location for years and never had this much difficulty. I’ve been calling since June go get a physical appointment for November. Always told to callback schedule not available. Now I call back and November is full and they don’t know when December calendar will be released. There needs to be a better scheduling system than parents having to call daily for months for an appointment. At this rate my child will be doing 2023 physical in 2024."
"My child has been going to this location for over 10 years and it seems that the great level of service they USED to give has diminished. I have been trying to get an appointment for over 4 weeks and every single time I call there is an issue. The lady that answered the phone kept asking which location, then claimed that the address on file and phone number didn't match what I said and I must have moved and didn't update my info. I have loved her for 14 years and NEVER had this issue before. My child comes for a physical yearly so how would the address not have been updated. I will be changing my child to another doctor's office because it isn't right to treat patients this way. If they do decide to answer the phone they ask you to "please hold" and they leave you on hold until someone hangs up on you"
"The doctors here are great, but the staff and nurses are slow, unconcerned, and sometimes cold. - you can only book an appointment for your child one month in advance. So if you know you need to schedule your child's 6 month well visit at your 4-month appointment, you have to call back every day after one month to see if they have finally got their availability booked into the computer. One doctor told us that she had given her availability for months and months ahead of time, but it's the office staff who are unable to book your appointment. - Of the 6 appointments my children have had here so far, we always are called back about 30-45 minutes after our appointments are scheduled. Our vaccine appointments take an hour at least and well child visits take over 2 hours minimum. It's a bad incentive because I know if I come up early like you should at a normal doctor's office, then I'll end of wasting significant time. - the nurses who have given our children shots aren't sweet and bubbly to help them with the pain. One nurse flat out told a 2-year-old that this was going to hurt. - our previous doctor weighed babies without a diaper on and without clothes on to get the most accurate weight. Here, they leave a dirty diaper on to weigh the children, and then make them wear a paper gown. This isn't necessarily bad, just seems unnecessary and inaccurate. - there is no division in the waiting room for sick children versus healthy children. So if you bring your child in for a well visit, they're likely to get sick in the waiting room. The quality of the doctors is great, but the facility and staff are subpar. If you don't want those kinds of headaches, don't go to Children's National."
"Made an appointment for a flu shot 2 days in advance. There was a little bit of a wait when we got to the waiting room and then again when we got to the exam room. But we were in and out in about 20 minutes. Note that the children's national office is in the east building not the west building."
