"I attempted to book an appointment, but faced obstacles. Initially, the call center took time confirming my insurance, followed by numerous screening questions. One of the question ask is if I was taking Klonopin. I find this to be invasive and I'm concerned about discriminatory practices among physicians, and the privacy implications of sharing medical history with a call center. The call center could not answer why this question was being asked. Consequently, I opted not to schedule an appointment."
"Every interaction with this company is infuriating. 1) they purchased my NPs practice, and then didn't include all of my pre-existing information, including my insurance, so I didn't get any of my visits processed through my insurance, and got full bills. 2) With that purchase, they no long allowed my provider to renew my medical marijuana card. I hate this place. I quit seeing my psychiatrist a few years back because dealing with Bloom is the absolute worst."
"Absolutely the worst place anybody could go for mental health. I lost my psychiatrist due to cancer, and these people only care about plugging in information in the computer algorithm and diagnose me with absence of forethought and out of the box thinking. I clearly have PTSD and have had many people murdered in my family. I was dismissed after improper diagnosis. The people continue to call me to try and set up additional appointments after dismissing me on the first visit. I poured my guts out to that nurse practitioner explaining the rough life that I had growing up in the Baltimore City. These people are only interested in getting paid. I have good health insurance and all they wanted was for me to keep making appointments and care very little about my mental health. I recommend anyone steering very far and clear from this place. They keep calling me set up additional appointments. All they care about is getting paid. Absolutely atrocious"
"I just had a Telehealth appointment with a provider from BHC this morning. The provider was 10 minutes late to the appointment and was very cold and snappy in her demeanor in the first part of the appointment. I can say that her mood slightly improved from the middle to the end of the appointment. I felt that despite having a diagnostic letter from another provider, I was being interrogated about my specific symptoms. It was not enough that I had a letter from my psychologist or that I used an umbrella term for the specific type for my diagnosis. We discussed my medical history in brief. As she described the medication options, she ranged from the non-stimulant to stimulant options. The stimulant options were presented to me in an adverse way as they are "controlled substances". The risks for this category of medication were emphasized. I ultimately opted for a non-stimulant to start off as it did seem to be the best option for me. However, after talking to a friend, it seems that the white folks we know with the same diagnosis are all on stimulants. And in this experience I felt discouraged from taking a stimulant. Another friend with the same diagnosis who is also Black had to fight for a year to even receive medication. I hope this is not a common experience. If I have any updates for my rating, I will be sure to provide one."
"Psych associates of MD has gone downhill since being bought out by Bloom. I had a medication emergency (drug reaction) and needed to speak with someone, anyone, about the safest way to proceed with my medications. My provider was not available and despite sweet Peggy (she deserves a raise) trying her best to get ahold of ANY provider, the only thing she could get from a provider was for me to sptop my medication and wait until a week later to talk to my provider (which a week later I still cant get ahold of). Meanwhile, I went thru terrible drug withdrawal that made me vioently ill. this practice needs to rethink how they aid their patients."
