"Very bright and fun atmosphere, food was delicious, and friendly staff- service can be a bit slow during busy times, but could tell they were working hard. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cool spot for dinner or drinks!"

"Kitchen closed at ten so I only got to taste one taco and the drinks looked ok. I liked the whimsical aesthetics but the restaurant isn’t wheelchair accessible. It is actually an old deck at the top of some very steep steps that has been converted into a bar. Also do not expect frozen drinks after 10pm. I’m assuming the spot was geared towards the Howard University students as it is on the outskirts of campus(beside the Howard Theater) with street parking that is of course very limited…so catch an Uber or be prepared to walk."

"The El Techo team provided fantastic service for my 60 person birthday party. We felt welcomed with plenty of space to eat, drink, dance, and socialize. The food and drinks are delicious, the vibes and music were on point, and the open-air space felt fantastic with the nice weather. I’m thankful for another great experience at this at this awesome establishment!"

"El Techo had great signature cocktails, great food, great ambiance, and reasonable prices. They put a time limit on tables so you can get in quickly, get great service, enjoy a couple hours, and make room for the next people!! An extra perk is the free two hour street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods! I definitely recommend. Cheers!"

"The food was pretty good. My issues are with the place itself. The table they sat the three of us at was barely enough space for one person. It was roughly 58° inside the restaurant. We had to stack plates just to fit all the food they brought to the table. It also took about 40 minutes to get dessert because the server forgot. Good tacos, guacamole, and margaritas. For the experience, I would go anywhere else to get tacos."
