Reviews
"After reading these reviews I also felt compelled to share my experience with Melissa Wood. I will not repeat what everyone else has experienced, as mine was similar. I have never in my 45 years of interaction with any provider had a conflict. I found Melissa unethical and spiteful. I filed a complaint with the office manager and her supervisor was supposed to follow up and to date, has not. I would not recommend this provider and hope that someone at University of Maryland hears these complaints and follows through."
"I wasn’t going to say anything regarding my horrible experience with this practice, but, after having read that others have had similar experiences, not only with this office, but more importantly, with the same “NP”. Never have I had a more frustrating, belittling, and unprofessional experience, in any area of my life, much less with a “caregiver.” Not only was I unable to get my medications refilled, I was made to feel as though this was due to my own inadequacy. I was told by Melissa that she had never had a patient who wasn’t able to get their refills through either My Portfolio, or by calling in. My pharmacy was not able to get through to her either. And, she denies receiving and notification s from them. They have saved copies of their faxes… After reading that so many others have had such difficulties with this person, I am somewhat comforted, and feel it important to speak up. I have a myriad of serious health issues and did not appreciate being treated so poorly. She has told me that her supervisors have backed her actions. I realize that we are all different and have different needs. I’m no spring chicken and have lived through a lot of in my life. I consider this experience reprehensible, particularly because I have been left “high and dry.” Fortunately, I am blessed with amazing specialists who will carry me until I start with my new GP at the end of this month. Please be aware."
"This is NOT a trustworthy office and their inability to conduct themselves in a professional manner is detrimental to their patients. I apologize in advance because this will be a little lengthy. I was extremely happy when I first started going to this office, Dr Chapman was the best doctor I ever had. I was aware that she would be out of maternity leave for a spell shortly after starting with her, confident if there was any issues the office could handle it. I was wrong in that assumption because out of the blue Dr Chapman supposedly quit, I was surprised however I was assured that the doctor place with whose name I was only given as Melissa, no last name, could do the job. I was made to wait 6 weeks to get an appointment, the closest they had, then 90 minutes before my appointment I received a call from the office informing me Melissa had to leave on a family emergency. I asked if I could reschedule the appointment but was told no. I asked if the doctor was only going to be out on a family emergency for the day why they were not able to reschedule and I was informed that they weren't sure she was coming back ever. I asked if she was out on a family emergency or if she had quit and they said they weren't sure but she told me to go ahead and call the next morning first thing when they opened to try to get another appointment. The office assistant said that they couldn't guarantee that they would be able to schedule me for any appointments but that if I was the first to call I might get lucky. The fact that she represents a medical office and they're telling me I have to try to win the lottery to get an appointment is disgusting. I decided that at this point if they could not do what was necessary to see and care for their patients in a better manner than they were not the office for me. About 2 weeks later they called and attempted to gloss over my request to have my records sent to the new office I chose and tried scheduling another appointment with some unknown doctor in their office and I told them exactly where I stood and I figured that that would be the end of it. However instead yesterday I received a letter informing me that because our relationship and I'm paraphrasing has soured that they would no longer be able to see me as if somehow they were letting me go as a patient instead of already being informed that I was firing them. I don't know who oversees this office and I don't know what kind of people actually run it because it doesn't seem like they're very competent. I do know that in the end the people that suffered the most were the patients. This isn’t just lack of adequate office personnel it’s a dangerous mix of underqualified management, doctors and a poor practice. Go anywhere else for your own safety!"
"Renee Edsall is amazing and so thankful to have her as my primary!!!"
