"Dr. McGuigan and her staff have always made me feel relaxed when I come in for my check-ups. Having had melanoma 2 times now, she has been so reassuring in my care and long term outcome. I transferred to Dr. McGuigan’s care in 2010, and I look forward to her continued care and monitoring of my skin."
"Had an appointment scheduled for 2:45pm and confirmed it the same morning with someone on the phone. I was running late due to work and called to inform that I would arrive at 3pm at the latest. The person on the phone stated that there is not a grace period, so I would be charged a $50 no-show fee unless I cancelled my appointment or rescheduled. They also stated that I should have been there 15 minutes early. At no point was I informed ahead of time that I had to be there 15 minutes early, nor was I informed that there was not a grace period due to the scheduling period of the appointments. I initially requested to reschedule my appointment, but I was informed that the next available appointment was nearly a month later… when I scheduled my appointment last week. I opted to cancel my appointment. If I had been informed of the policies ahead of time I wouldn’t have had an issue. But then they wanted to charge me $50 for a no-show when I wasn’t even informed of the policies. Will be going elsewhere."
"From the time that I stepped into this office they were so helpful. It was run professionally and the service that I received from the staff and from the doctor was above a five star. The doctor took her time and went over everything with me and answered any questions instead of rushing me through the process she wanted to make sure that I understood everything. I will definitely go back and recommend your practice to friends and family. Thank you again for delivering excellent service."
"Great first visit! The office staff communicated several times to remind me of my appointment. They emailed me paperwork to fill out prior to my visit to streamline the process. The doctor for my appointment was Lisa Anderson, and she was wonderful! Lisa was very friendly, listened to my concerns, and was thorough in her examination. I would definitely recommend her!"
"It is nearly impossible to contact a human at this office, or to have anyone call you back or do follow-up. An answering service ends up taking most of the incoming calls. They don't work directly for the office, and can't answer even the most basic of questions. They are supposed to pass information to the office and the office staff is supposed to call you back. It's a hit-or-miss process that usually misses. I've attempted contact 7 times trying to make 2 separate appointments, got 1 call-back that led to 1 actual appointment. This process is as cumbersome as it is ineffective. Do better. You get 1 star. The doctor I saw was not the most personable physician I've worked with. She was curt and never really made eye contact. OK, that's fine. I can deal with that if she's really good. However, she showed little interest in me as a patient and little professional curiosity. Others have complained about really short appointments and I agree. I had to stop her twice to come back and look at all the things I had made the appointment for. For the small amount of time I had her attention, she seemed to know what she was doing. Her kids may have been sick that day or she may have been as frustrated with her office staff as I was, so I'm open to trying again. You get (a generous) 3 stars. Overall rating is 2 stars. Annapolis has some world class health care and this kind of experience is really unusual. If I can ever schedule another appointment and have a different experience, I'll modify this review. I'm looking for another office in the meantime. Hope they can untangle this mess."
