"I got a dog 6 years ago he was my best friend he died this year but I still remember when we got him was one of the best days of my life and it will always be I loved him please adopt or foster a dog it helps I promise."
"My pets are well cared for during boarding. It is clean and organized. The staff are very friendly and caring people . Thank you for years of service to the community."
"The front office staff was pleasant overall but the shelter definitely does not do a comprehensive exam on pets. The pet I adopted had eye drainage the day I saw her and I did apply for her and got approved. After I received the approval call the day after I asked if there were any medical issues I needed to be aware of, to which I was informed she did have an "eye thing" going on and it was being taken care of. When I got there to pick my new pet up, the person who I assume was the manager or director was condescending and nitpicking about everything, from not loading her into the carrier fast enough to not having a blanket in the carrier. She was especially rude when I asked her about my pets eye's and if she would need medication. She then made a phone call to who I may have spoke to (didn't know their name) and proceeded to talk about how it's only a little drainage that could be from anything and that nothing of the sort was done for her eye's. They do give you a free well pet coupon to local vets but they are scheduling at least weeks in advance so that doesn't really help at this time. I managed to get an appointment with my vet only to hear it there is definitely conjunctivitis and bilateral ear infection. I feel like the pets health should have been more of a concern than making sure the cat carrier had a blanket in it. I've gotten a couple pets from HSCC over the last decade or so without really any issues or if there was they were ready to help out but it just seemed kind of on my own this time without any real desire to resolve the issues. Not sure if management has changed or what."
"We adopted our cat Lola from this animal shelter about 2 months ago. The shelter did a great job walking us through the process of adopting (first time adopting a cat) and letting us know how Lola is. Since being home she has really opened up and shown her full personality! She is such a lap cat and follows me everywhere! My tiny best friend. Great experience overall."
"Surprisingly fast foster to adoption process. They took the time to assist in matching the right dog for our youngest child. The first dog was so gentle, but she didn't interact with him hardly at all. The second one however, she loves playing with him."
