Bright Horizons at Old Town Alexandria

"Both of our sons (1 former, 1 current) have attended Bright Horizons Old Town over the past 4 years and had fantastic experiences! Excellent teachers, high quality and clean facilities, and great curriculum. The staff and teachers make an active effort to keep parents informed and involved. It’s worth the investment, Highly recommended!"

"The little park they have there states that its a public park, but anytime I take my toddler there during the week we are told to leave. Today there was no one out there, so we decided to stop. One of the employees just banged on the window from inside and yelled no. Don't say its open to the public if its not. He loves that little park and it is perfect for him due to autism and it being quiet. We probably won't be back though."

"It's been a year and a half since we left so I'm updating my review. We moved our kid over to another daycare nearby. Several of his classmates followed! I guess we weren't the only ones having major issues. It eventually became clear that despite independent interest/initiative from some teachers, poor management lead to a gross lack of consistency in practices. I wish we'd left earlier. We waited until our kid had totally lost interest in "school" and was consistently complaining about being stressed from a teacher in his new class yelling at everyone (as in, "mom, it hurts my ears"), which hasn't happened after we moved out. I DID contact the center director and area manager about our issues multiple times over the course of several months. Hopefully something came of it. --------------------------------- We've been here over a year and I have mixed feelings. My kid loves his current teachers (and they are really great). I guess that's what counts the most! My concerns are regarding conflicts of interest at the center. Will update my review as and when I'm more certain of consistency in practice and above all, professionalism - all purely from an administration standpoint."
