Violino Ristorante Italiano

"We enjoyed a delightful dinner here in November ahead of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Violino Ristorante is located on the north end of the walking street in old town Winchester. The food is authentic Italian and it seems as if much of the staff are as well. There are two main dining rooms, one at the entrance and one to the left. Ask for a table at the one to the left as there will be less foot traffic. Dinner wasn't rushed in spite of it being at prime time on a Friday night. A roaving violin player entertained us throughout the meal. Guests celebrating a special occasion were serenaded in Italian by one of the kitchen staff. It was a very romatic experience. The mussels and clams were cooked to perfection, meaning soft and tender. The meal ended with tiramisu, apple strudel, cappuchino and espresso. Highly recommended; we will definitely be going back when in the area."

"Our third-anniversary celebration at Violino Ristorante Italiano was a culinary delight. The authentic Italian dishes were a flavor explosion, showcasing the chef's expertise. The intimate ambiance, complete with soft music and tasteful décor, added a romantic touch to our evening. While our small table was a minor inconvenience, I would give a solid 4.8 out of 5 for its exceptional food, romantic atmosphere, and memorable service. A definite go-to for future special occasions! Ho adorato il gelato! :)"

"Lovely Italian restaurant at the end of the Old Town walking mall. Service was a little on the slower side but staff was wonderful. Definitely a more leisurely dinner, which took about 1.5hrs for entrees and dessert, but they did provide warm focaccia and breadsticks with olive oil and an amuse-bouche (asparagus and rice soup), which was a nice surprise and kept us satisfied while waiting for our entrees. I had the saltimbocca house special which was delicious. My husband opted for the branzino nightly special which he really enjoyed. We ended with a tiramisu, which was divine. There were plenty of wine options by the glass, plus digestifs. I'm not sure how kid-friendly they are but I'm glad we left our toddler at home for this dinner because it's a bit tight inside and outside on the patio. I'm not sure he would have tolerated it very well. All in all, we would definitely return."

"Probably the best restaurant I've been to in a very long time. A destination! Small, nicely laid out in three partially separated spaces. Nice wine selection, food is delicious and creative. Violinist plays classical tunes, chef comes out and sings a piece from an opera. Can't wait to get back."
