"I had drop off service for dog at 10:30 am. I was called at 3:00pm for pickup. I arrived at 3:10pm. I didn’t receive my dog until 4:26pm. SMH!! Also, I was told 1 price at drop off. But, at pick up that went up $40.00?"
"My dog Bigby has been with Banfield (various locations throughout the years) for about 9 years now. Banfield has been an affordable, convenient option to make sure that my dog is seen twice per year, is up to date on his vaccines and exams, and to make sure his teeth are cleaned annually. However, I am discontinuing my dog's Banfield membership. Bottom line, Banfield is not a good option if you need a vet to provide the appropriate amount of time and energy and compassion to care for your aging animals. My dog was diagnosed with the beginnings of tracheal collapse last year, a long-term degenerative disease. I have been struggling for the past year to consistently obtain medication from Banfield to keep his coughing under control. I went to this particular Banfield at Largo on 8/1/2023 and was prescribed Temaril-P by Dr. Alganesh Gessesse. The medication was for 14 pills with no refills. I have been to the Banfield location in person four times and I've only been able to secure a refill one time; since the medication was not refillable, the doctor has to be present to approve the refill and this doctor does not work full time at this particular location. Additionally, no one at this location picks up the phone. I have called multiple times in the past month and the phone rings and rings without an answering machine. Also, every time I've gone to this Banfield in person, the front desk is unmanned so I'm concluding based on my experience that calling is an unreliable communcation method. Today was the last straw when I was told yesterday, 9/18/23, that the vet would be here today, 9/19/23, and the vet was not there when I arrived at 5pm. Yes, that is late but I'm a working person too and why does the system have to be so difficult? Why couldn't the techs leave a note for the doctor that I'm seeking a refill? My best guess is that this location is overwhelmed with clients (Banfield IS a business after all) and cannot provide care to pets that need more time and effort. Basically, this location is a revolving door that provides subpar service, which is fine if your dog or cat is healthy, but isn't what my dog needs now."
"The staff at Banfield Largo were absolutely wonderful - from the intake staff to the vet techs, Benjamin and Christyne to the provider, Dr. Jannifer. They treated my cat with tenderness and compassion even as she growled. They were thorough and explained each test and the costs before moving forward with each step of the exam. So, there were no surprises. I thank you so very much!"
"Have been calling for weeks to have my pet seen due to a rash. Unable to get through and only receive a voicemail. Also don’t receive a callback. Also have the Optimum Wellness Plan. 100% do NOT recommend this location nor the Banfield Wellness Plan."
"I made an appointment for each of my 3 dogs from 2pm to 3pm. Each appointment was scheduled for 30 minutes. I received a phone call early in the morning the date of the appointments. I was asleep so I didn’t answer the phone but the voicemail stated that I needed to call Banfield and confirm my appointments for today. Each and every time I call I reached their voicemail that said the hospital is close and even when I tried to call Petsmart and speak to other employees in or around the hospital I was unable to reach anyone. They ended up canceling my appointments and once their phones were working, I was able to get in touch with them and they wanted to reschedule me for a 330 appointment because they gave my appointment away already. This place has horrible communications."
