"I absolutely love this place! Gluten free fried chicken is an absolute must, nice deal for 2 on a whole chicken. The other selections are great too! The staff is friendly and warm. For me: this is a ‘visit weekly’ spot."
"Unlike other fried chicken I’ve had, but not in a good way. Doro Bet uses teff flour instead of wheat flour, which creates a thick and hard shell that’s a pain to chew through. Some people would call it “extremely crunchy”, but I personally didn’t enjoy the texture. Wait times are long as the chickens are cooked to order. I do recommend the fries for the tasty spice blend."
"The chicken with lemon pepper was flawless. We arrived for a festival that ran from about 4 to 9 p.m. and featured discounts at local eateries and stores. We barely made it inside, but let me tell you, there was a reason why this eatery had customers waiting in line for delicious meals until the end of the festivities. The chicken was delicious, practically too excellent to eat. I was hoping for more, but it was obvious the restaurant was about to close. The good news is that, although it was closing time and they were about to throw out the remaining food, the girl behind the counter asked if we wanted the leftover chicken, which made us very happy. Thank heavens, they offered it to us first. The service was excellent, and I would definitely come back!"
"Delicious!! Chicken came out hot and fresh, and I think it’s a reasonable wait given that they cook it fresh for you. I got a spicy whole thigh and Mac and cheese and both were delicious! The chicken was so crispy, juicy, and flavorful, with the perfect amount of heat. The mac and cheese had a special seasoning and was the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. (Also, I appreciated the ceasefire now poster.) I wish I lived in Philly so I could support this business more!"
"Staff is friendly and gave good recommendations to our group. I tried the chicken sandwich and glad I asked to try their sauces. The sandwich was good but whatever the redish sauce was elevated it by a lot and really made flavors pop. The shawarma salad was okay my partner said they wished it had croutons and more ingredients. It only consisted of the chicken , lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, and a bit of dressing. The chicken itself didn't really have a strong shawarma like flavor as we were anticipating."
