"First, I got a ham, egg, and cheese on a cinnamon crunch bagel. There was literally no ham, maybe a little melted cheese, and a thin slab of egg. It looks like they didn’t even try. I called the restaurant and the woman I spoke to said she would refund my order. Two days later and it was never refunded. I won’t waste my money there again."
"You could tell cashier didn't want to be there, fact that we had questions seemed to annoy her. I got a pick 2 with soup and grilled cheese sandwich. I think Panera now has the record for world's smallest grilled cheese sandwich, more like an hors d'oeuvre. Went back to front cash register to get a pastry to go, stood there for 5 minutes and no one acknowledged us, so we left. This the definition of a once halfway decent chain restaurant going downhill fast."
"My wife didn’t realize she ordered the wrong salad, and as we debated re-ordering after the food was delivered to our table, the store manager (Josh) surprised us with the salad she wanted. That is customer service. Thank you Josh. You redefined customer service! Excellent."
"Absolutely disappointing. The first experience my boyfriend and I had here tonight was despicable. The sandwiches we ordered? It was only HALF!! HALF for 12$?! What inflation? I also don't know why they didn't tell us that we were getting half of a sandwich. That would have been helpful, and kept me from spending all the money I did. Not to mention that the sandwiches were extremely bland, the cook must be allergic to salt and pepper. We also ordered a side of soup, which was two "bowls" of chicken noodle. The first picture below shows what was left of the broth in my boyfriends bowl after he ate all the chicken and noodles and veggies. The second bowl is mine, and I had only a couple scoops of it. And what's so sad is that the soup was the best part of what we ordered, it's the only thing that had seasonings. Their small bags of chips are okay, but only if you like kettle chips. As for the atmosphere, it was sub-par. The floors were unbelievably sticky, and the tables I had passed were poorly wiped. Other than it being filthy, the decor was homey. They had a faux fireplace in the seating area, it was its own little wall/divider. The girl that took our order, while visibly nervous, did a great job. My only gripe is with the cooks who didn't bother to season our sandwiches."
"What a breath of fresh air. After my experiences at the newly-opened Chipotle right next door, I had set the lowest expectations for this place. I was wrong! With strong managerial presence on the floor, abundant staff that is eager to help, carefully crafted food and fully stocked bar, this place is ready for war. Best Panera in North Jersey and I am excited to give them my business. Kudos to the franchise owner, manager, and staff for making Newton a classier, more reliable town to bring in business(: -Trevor"
