"Actually I would rate this place a zero (0) but its not a option to. To start, from the outside the building is missing the name of the place smh…. and I was almost afraid to go in however, once I entered I asked the black older lady behind the counter who I believe was the owner if I could use use the restroom before I placed my order she rudely said “no, not for customers”so anyway I asked was the Mac and cheese baked or not and was the salmon fresh or frozen, she replied “I don’t have to answer your questions because all of my food is fresh” I told her it was my first time at that rat hole and that I have a right to ask. She was really rude and I guess offended….. everyone should not be business owners and must importantly she should’ve been appreciative of my support in the first place, so PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE."
"I wish I could say how good the food was, but I never had it. I placed an order over the phone and she explained the wait would be a hour. When I arrived a hour later my food wasn’t ready, she was cooking, taking orders, bagging food etc, running a whole restaurant by herself. When she asked for my name she said it will be done soon. So I waited another hour, after waiting another hour I asked about my food and she didn’t even have my order I had to order all over again. After waiting another hour(3 hours in) I left and went somewhere else."
"I used to eat here back in the day and the food was great. But now it’s horrible and so is the service. I ordered 4 platters at 3 o clock and I was told it would be ready in an hour, called back and they told me another 25 minutes. Get there and it took another half hour and the food came to $102.00 just for two platters to be missing sides. I tried to go back within fifteen minutes of noticing the sides missing and the restaurant was closed at 6:15pm, although the lady told me they closed by 7pm. The Mac and cheese was so blend and I was so annoyed that I didn’t even want the rest of the food. Never again."
"Best soul food in Philadelphia. Best soul food north of the Mason-Dixon. Be prepared to wait (I always call in with my order), but it is well worth it. Everything is amazing (fried chicken duh) but the corn bread is legendary (and sells out fast)."
"Pros: Very good soul food. Honestly, this was some of the best soul food I’ve had in a while. I ordered the turkey wings platter with Mac and Cheese with Cabbage. Everything was finger licking good. The portions are generous! I appreciate the amounts she gave. I had some left over for the next day. Cons: Just for transparency. The wait is long. I ordered 2 hours in advance. It wasn’t an issue for me since I planned it out that way. So order ahead. Overall 5 stars because she is a beast in the kitchen and the food was amazing!"
