"Great food great service great people. Prices are really good especially nowadays you can get breakfast for about $7,$8 and it's cooked right then. So nice and fresh. I'm visiting moundsville for the next few months and I have already been there probably half a dozen times if not more. If you like local Hangouts this is the place for you. My goal is always to find where the people in the area go and this is definitely one of them."

"my friends came in from out of town and we decided on the polka dot. when we initially went in, it was quite busy, but it eased up after 10 minutes are so. we were greeted and got our drinks and asked for another minute. that minute slowly turned into 45 minutes without being told anything. she was cleaning tables, but we also saw her simply filling ketchup bottles. by this point, we flagged her down and let her know when we were ready when she had a moment. she very rudely said “you can go up to the counter and order”. we waited about another five minutes at the counter before we left and went to bobs lunch next door. i am beyond disappointed with the service we got today. i am a waitress as well and understand the stress, but there were multiple times she a hundred percent could have stopped to take our order, but simply didn’t."

"This place is a true diamond in the rough! We stopped in Moundsville for a quick stay overnight and after a quick search for breakfast we stumbled onto Grandma Jo's Polkadot Cafe. We could not praise this place enough. The prices are great and the food itself is extraordinary! I ordered "The Shock" and haven't been that satisfied with a breakfast in ages. On top of everything else, the service was stupendous. I can't recommend this place enough. A welcoming family atmosphere with delicious food at unbeatable prices, what's not to love?"

"Honestly, in this small town of West Virginian your choice of dining out is very limited and I am all for supporting local Mom and Pap joint. Came here on a Wednesday morning like 10ish and this place is packed!! Most people seem to be regular and definitely local. The ambience is very homey and it really feels like eating at your grandma's Kitchen, but the food is just alright... I had the small Shock, for $3.5 they gave you food enough for a family of 4. Husband had the small biscuit on the other hand and it's really small in portion and bland in flavor. The hostess/waitress is really sweet tho~"
