About the Business
St. James Thrift Shop, located at 234 South Main Street in Mount Airy, Maryland, is a community outreach program dedicated to ministering to the needs of individuals and families in a holistic manner. Established years ago by members of St. James' Church, the thrift shop has been a staple in the Mount Airy community, offering a wide range of clothing, furniture, and household items at affordable prices.
Operating Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Thrifty Thursday specials on the third Thursday of the month, the thrift shop welcomes donations of gently used items in good condition. Donations can be dropped off during open hours, and inclement weather donation policies are in place to ensure the safety of donated items.

Reviews
"I liked how everything was organized in a small area. The owner is a very nice lady to chat with. Found great wine glasses for a very cheap price and some nice shirts. One was even with tag."
"I decided to try this thrift store since I’m reviewing as many thrift stores in the area. No one greeted when I walked in, just stared. The cashiers did not seem friendly or approachable at all. The selection is pretty average for men’s and women’s clothing. Lots of old Loft, Banana Republic, etc. The prices for unmarked clothing are slightly lower than average goodwill prices. Anything of value is marked up to about 50% of what you could buy in in the store. There is no public bathroom- not great for the youngest and oldest shoppers in the community. One positive is that they were holding a children’s Christmas shopping day, which seemed like a nice thing for the kids in the community. Overall, you’re better off going to Goodwill for a better selection of items for similar prices."
"Scratch another thrift store off the list. This once was a great thrift store with pretty good prices. Unfortunately the greed bug has bitten them. Prices are ridiculous. Some items are priced higher than Goodwill. Even on half price days the prices are too much."
"Not much out but I found 1 book i liked and 1 to make me better at work hopefully. (Picture) Cats wernt bought there just books"
"Great place for bargains, friendly staff, and upcycled stuff."
