"Shades Beach has come a long way. I remember as a kid the shoreline was covered with tons of dead fish and litter and the boat launch was nearly non existent. Poorly maintained and now it's all cleaned up. It has a much better boat launch area with nice synthetic decking for boat tie downs along with a couple nice wake break walls surrounding it. Much nicer and well taken care of now. Keep up the good work."
"Not spot to enjoy the lake and look for cool rocks and beach glass."
"Nice quiet beach. It's pretty rocky but the kids enjoyed it. The waves were high so we spent the day on the water's edge but we hated to leave and can't wait to go back."
"We LOVE this stunning beach with the playground on a nice grassy flat patch of ground with plenty of picnic areas and a pavilion and restrooms open during the summer. Warning for the beach area, it is a rockier beach! Fun to explore and take pictures but we prefer the softer cleaner sand on Presque Isle for the days we want to get in the water."
"I recently moved to Harborcreek and discovered this park. So far, I've only had time to drive in, park, and experience the sights and sounds of Lake Erie and sunsets. That alone makes this a great place to visit. It's a gorgeous location! Next summer, I hope to take advantage of the picnic tables, pavilion, and hiking trails. There is good parking and restrooms."
