"Great place to take a Hike! On one side is Morning Choice Trail. The other takes you toward Rockburn Branch Park. Parking was easy and the trail was fun."
"Love this trail head. Connects to many trails in Patapsco without having to pay for parking. There isn't a parking lot but some space cleared off on the sides of the road, which can get full at peak times. However I always seem to find a place to park, even if a little further down."
"Great trailhead to access Patapsco trails to the river and falls aside from main State Park entrance. Only downside is very limited roadside parking. Recommend taking a phone with GPS to help guide you on the trails. Although not clear until crossing the stream, Morning Choice Trail continues on to other trails. After hiking on morning choice and ridge trails, and following the signs to cascade falls, it took approximately 2 hours to get to cascade falls, however when I followed the trails as marked Google maps with my gps, the return route was only about an hour so I think the trails signs do not provide the most direct route to cascade falls."
"The actual entrance gate to the park doesn't open until 9:00 a.m. so if you want to get an early start to your hike this is the best option for parking. There are approximately 10 spots available in a "parking lot" and another 10 to 15 spots parallel with the road. We did a 10 and a half to 11 MI loop hike with some zigzags for extra distance. Our favorite park in close proximity to DC. Well there's no significant elevation gain at any one time you do get rolling hills that add up to a comfortable amount of elevation change across a longer distance. The 10 and a half mile hike took us 3 and 1/2 hours approximately at a good pace. Nice variety of trails with changing scenery between fields River views waterfall and different types of forests. If it's been raining recently be cautious hiking here due to the large amount of dirt bikes the trail is very smooth and can become very muddy even when it's dry. With very much rain it would be a very slow tedious walk"
"I just really enjoy getting lost here on my own. The trails are clearly marked - but you can just spend hours here walking or running around. Every turn is better than the last. Horses, bicyclists, and other people walking/running are welcome. There's parking on the side of the road and you may want to get there a bit early on the weekends. It's popular!"
