"A year ago I left 5 stars for this business however today I will have to give them much less. What a difference a year makes. After being a client for over 5 years, today I decided I will no longer support this business. I has an appointment yesterday at 4 and was not seen until 445. If the customer was late, the appointment would have been canceled! Prices have increased, service had decreased. Rossy, I texted and called you about my experience and you still did not respond. This is disappointing and disrespectful. When I arrived no one spoke to me however I spoke to Griselda. When she applied the color, it burned my head and when I brought it to her attention it felt like I was bothering her, but she helped me. When Jessica was washing my tender scalp she was not kind nor patient. Her attitude is nasty and so is Alex. Griselda ended up washing my hair and she was much kinder and gentle. My roots are puffy and for $130 I should be more satisfied. I understand that your clients are primarily black women however when we bring matters of concern to your staff they should not speak Spanish for people who don't speak the language it can be perceived as rude. A client may feel as though you are talking about them and based on how they respond to a customer, they may be right. Bottom line, when people start caring more about the money versus their clients' satisfaction or experience, it is time to leave. I will no longer support this salon or recommend them to other women. Be careful how you treat your customers. If any damage to my hair happens you will be hearing from me Rossy."

"I paid 140 dollars and my hair instantly frizzed up when I got home. I’m very disappointed and will not be returning. However, they do a very nice job caring and pampering your hair. But I paid 140 for something that didn’t even last through the night."

"IF YOU VALUE YOUR CURLS… DONT GO HERE. I called the salon and made a same day appointment. When I got into the chair I said clearly ‘no straightener please’ to which the lady who made my appointment replied we don’t do that. Why is that important? I’ve been natural for 5 years and this was my first time getting my hair flattened. She asked if I wanted a conditioner and I said yes. I have 4c hair, it has to be conditioned. The blow dry/flat iron was on. the lady doing my hair complimented how healthy my hair was and that I had no breakage. I shouldn’t as I don’t use heat other than for deep conditioning. In the end my hair was straight and lackluster but I didn’t want anymore heat. I sat in my car w my hair smelling burned. How could this be possible I thought. Maybe it’s all that was being done in the salon. I got home and the smell was just as strong. This happened Friday 11/10. Today, 11/12 I cannot take the smell, I had to wash my hair. As i shampooed my hair I knew something was wrong. It didn’t puff up as usual. Detangling w a shampoo comb was too easy and my hair she’d like it had just been cut. ***I also paid for a trim *** My hair is not what it was before visiting Brio. A chemical was put on my hair. My ends which were curly are now straight. I have not used ANY straightening products in over 6 years. This was NO mistake. I went her a few times before having my daughter when my hair was chemically straightened…more than 9 years ago. I was visiting again to see if this is a place I could take her. I wouldn’t take anyone here. If you value your natural curls like I do STAY AWAY FRON BRIO."

"I had high hopes for this salon since it was recommended in a group I am in and it’s only a short drive to my house. I scheduled the signature biro blow out for natural hair online which was easy enough. Less than an hour before my appointment, they called and asked if I could come later because the stylist I scheduled with was running late. I told them I unfortunately could not because I was already on a tight schedule for my maternity photo shoot that afternoon. The owner was very nice and made arrangements to have another stylist do my hair who she assured me was “very good.” The stylist I wound up with was less than friendly and didn’t really interact with me at all. I will say that my hair looked great immediately afterward, but it had a strong burnt smell which did not really subside. Unfortunately, now after washing my hair twice, my hair still has that burnt smell and my curls are not what they used to be. I will not be returning and I would advise anyone who is interested in keeping their natural hair healthy to think twice about getting a blowout/silk press at this salon."
