"McAlister's deli seems to be going downhill. Skimpy on the cheese, onions And the sour cream is served with liquid in a small container from sitting around too long. The silverware is now their finest plastic-wear, I was told because they can't find their silverware, because people throw it away. I find that odd because they bust their own tables. And their brownie for dessert is pulled out of a refrigerator. Yum - nothing like a cold brownie,.. not."

"What an amazing deli called McAlister's Deli located inside Ashburn Village at the Ashbrook Commons shoppingcenter. Not too long ago Ashburn Village's Ashbrook Commons consisted of a few restaurants, grocery stores and one gas station. Today, it's a thriving shopping center with tons of fast-food chains, gas stations and many businesses. I recall Ashbrook Commons having a quaint line of businesses, but it's definitely changed a lot. Which brings me to McAlister's Deli, a small but convenient deli with fresh ingredients and well made bread. I ordered The Italian, which was fresh and tasty because it had the works: fresh tomatoes, lettuce, banana peppers, black olives and Italian meats bursting with authentic flavor. At first, I didn't think it would be any different than other delis in the area, but it was fantastic. It was a worthwhile stop. The inside is discreetly furnished and the atmosphere is soothing with the background music at a low volume. But most of all, the service is fantastic. I found the staff very receptive and accomodating in what I observed was a fast-paced restaurant serving customer after customer. It does appear to this patron that it's a family place to take the kids, young adults and friends. I was very impressed and plan on coming here again, but not alone. Hats off to the staff and management. Great food and great location."
