"Luckily, I'm a resident, so I didn't have to pay the $25 fee for weekends. The parking lot was full, but a car left as we pulled up so we could park. I had a blast, and so did my son. Because there were a lot of people, the current wasn't so bad in the river. There were fire and rescue there, which was nice because they weren't in the past. They even had some in the river. There was plenty of room to set up. Unfortunately, there aren't grills there anymore, so if you want to cook out, bring your own. You can bring a pop-up tent too, to block the sun. We built a sand castle which my son loved. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. We will be going back again."
"Great outdoors! Nice clear waters with nice temperature on a summer day. Went with the family."
"It's outdoors people, share it with others like it isn't yours alone. Yes, sometimes it's hard to find parking. Yes,, rocks may hurt your feet, duh, you're not at a resort. Get outside with no expectations except to enjoy nature and you will have a wonderful time. Who knows, you may even see Wonder Woman cause its a great place to catch some good lighting."
"This is a cool area along the river that's filled with parks, beaches and historical landmarks. The area can get pretty crowded during the warm seasons, and parking is pretty limited. While your at the beach, definitely take a walk along the Belmont-Ferry Farm trail for a Fredericksburg history lesson"
"Love this spot definitely a good way to spend the day on a hot summer day. Coolers allowed grills allowed only on the grassy area. Bring all your stuff perfect place for a full day for a kickback."
