"Unbelievably disappointing experience at the food stand they have in the Garage on King. Paid $15 for literally 3 pieces of brisket that likely weighed under 4oz. Even asked the person at the counter and they said that it was the normal amount. Also didn’t get a pickle and only got a small handful of chips. The meat was tasty, but wasn’t nearly enough to be worth my $15 or satisfy my appetite. Very disappointing."

I've been coming to Mountaineer Meat Smokers for their brisket for well over a few years, and always my first stop when attend festivals and I see them there. I recently had the chance to try the prime rib for the holidays and it was incredible."

"First time trying Mountaineers, came in with high hopes. Got the Trio , Pork Bites - these were actually slamming!!! Ribs & brisket - were good but idk they were sorta cold in my opinion. Had a perfect smoke flavor! Now the sauces will definitely enhance the flavor experience, however theres only one station by the exit. The sweet and the signature were the highlights. Sides ,, Collard Greens were good but cold Cole slaw was ok - think vinaigrette , not mayo. Potato salad was okay, Mac and Cheese was cold. The place is absolutely stunning, very clean well maintained- modern! There was a live band playing, which was bearable! Service in my opinion could be better, i would advise against pre-tipping on their clover machine- do a cash tip based on how you feel the service was! Price wise , would be a great value—— if the food was served warm. Theres so much potential, you know the fat trimmings get nice and soft when warm, thats really what makes smoked food stand out!"
