Holiday Inn Express & Suites Belle Vernon, an IHG Hotel 181 Finley Road, Belle Vernon, PA 15012

"I’m traveling for business and left one Holiday Inn Express after a long day of meetings, traveled three hours (in a snow storm) to this hotel (arriving at 9p) and was exhausted. I had high hopes based off the other HIE that I stay at often. This one didn’t hit the mark. The bed is disgusting with blood stains on it, white crusty stuff on the entire bed skirt, stains on the sheets and what looks like dead bugs in the air vent (that also doesn’t work properly). I have to get up at 3a to leave by 4a for more meetings and I’m too exhausted to move to another hotel. If I wasn’t in such a pinch for sleep I certainly would. I checked for bed bugs but haven’t seen any…. Yet. The bathroom looks clean at least."

"This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. There were people fighting in the hall in the middle of the night, and they were freakish. My husband had to go out in the hall and yell at them to keep it down. Then there was the cockroach my husband killed we noticed climbing up the wall in the hall just outside our room. The breakfast was not good - my husband said the biscuits were hard and the sausage dried out. I wouldn't eat anything after seeing the cockroach. There were 2 towels for 2 of us for a 2 night stay and no soap in the shower. Oh, and let's not forget how the room keys repeatedly stopped working. All this for $125/night. I would suggest staying elsewhere, and be sure to read the ratings! The front desk staff was friendly, but none of this was their fault."

"Holiday Inn Distress is a more accurate name. This place needs updated and cleaned. First and last time I stay here. Picture shows an example of some of the disrepair. My brother found a roach in room 206."

"Hotel was in good location. Staff was friendly. Hallway and elevators, were not vaccumed and dirty Room was very poorly cleaned. Carpet was dirty, small pieces of garbage under and around beds. Hair on pillowcases. However, no sign of bugs. All other reviews were so positive I had high hopes. But we almost just bought another hotel. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they had a bad cleaner for a time."

"Both rooms had a pretty strong odor, one was really musty, and the other was heavily perfumed enough to give me a headache. The rooms were clean, and the air-conditioning worked. Breakfast was delayed, because they had run out of food, and that day's food was delivered at 8 AM, and the kitchen lady was trying to unpack, cook and clean by herself. The rest of the staff sort of wandered by and watched occasionally. She was the hardest working person I've seen in awhile. Overall, it was a good night's sleep, but the hotel needs serious investment in staff and facility. I doubt I'll go back."
