"I have been taking my 3 children here consistently for the past 2 years. Every time I go here the receptionists are very friendly and they manage to squeeze us in, even on a Friday evening. The doctors we've seen have all been knowledgeable and kind, and we have only had good experiences here. Our wait is never unreasonable and they get the 5th star because they divide the sick and well children into 2 different waiting rooms with its own bathroom. Very pleasant atmosphere for a doctor's office. UPDATE on 2/2020: This is now Wellspan Pediatric of Joppa Rd. I left a review for it under that name as well. They're still doing a great job."
"Have had our children here as patients for 16+ years. With few exceptions, we've had excellent care from the doctors and staff. Doctors are always willing to answer questions in person or via phone. They show true concerns for their patients' well-being. This practice offers evening and Saturday hours. For sick visits, our kids have been seen as late as 10 PM on a weekday and even on several Sunday mornings after we talked with the doctor on-call. They are very willing to work with specialists as needed to coordinate care."
"I was a patient here about 13 years ago. I would have been 11 years old. This was just before the cut off to start seeing a regular doctor due to my age. I don't remember the name of my exact pediatrician, it was a long time ago, but I do remember the last check up I had there. The doctor called my mother out of the room so she could speak to me privately. Now, at the time, I was overweight, and mercilessly teased at school for it. However, as far as I remember, it had never been brought up to me by my pediatrician before. After my mother was out of the room, she turned to me, told me that I was overweight, and then said to me, I quote, "I'm not going to help you lose weight, you gained it on your own." And then proceeded to tell me something about eating healthy on the week days, and eating whatever I wanted during the weekend. Very sternly, like she had seen me take a cookie from a cookie jar. This was all the information I received before my mother was called back into the room. At 11, the only thing I knew about nutrition was the food pyramid. If you asked me what a calorie was, I honestly couldn't have told you, let alone how they work. Now, when left to try to find a solution to my weight problem (that had never been brought up to me before and made me feel even worse about it coming from my pediatrician, especially the tone), what do you think an 11 year old would do with no resources or support? When eating apples and carrots doesn't work (I rarely ever ate sweets and we didn't have soda in the house) That's right, I developed an eating disorder that followed me all the way to the end of high school. Turns out, I hit puberty at 11, and I grew in to my weight as an adult. Once I kicked the eating disorder, I ended up weighing exactly the same no matter what I ate: 145 pounds. I still have a hard time eating and looking at myself in the mirror. I guess that's just the weight I'm meant to stay. You know, unless I starve myself. I will always remember the way the doctor that worked at this facility, whether still there or not, handled this situation. I didn't expect her to give me a magic pill to fix my weight, but some kind of tools or resources would have helped. I never even asked for her "help" in the first place. It was, in fact, a detriment that made me severely depressed and even more self conscious about my weight throughout the rest of my school days. I guess I'm writing this review because I want parents of heavier kids to know what I dealt with here, so it doesn't happen to their kids. Kids aren't stupid. They remember, and that memory can be long lived. I have a child of my own now, and you can bet that I won't be taking him here, no matter how much time has passed. Who knows if that doctor is still there, and odds are, the other doctors in the practice share similar beliefs and ideas."
"We had taken our 3 month old baby here for a cold, after the doctor spent all of 2 minutes in the room he gave us a referral to have chest xrays done. Being new parents and being told the whole time during pregnancy that xrays are not good for a baby we decided to get a second opinion, which the other doctor said the same thing so we went and had them done. Two weeks later we received a letter in the mail from the doctor here stating that a patient/doctor relationship requires trust and that he would no longer see our child because we had went and got a second opinion."
"So.... After 6 years of service we had and excellent doctor. Our children have had several issue through the years. Dr. LeGrand always showed us superior help and excellent recommendations. She would get a full 5 star rating on her own.... However after 6 years they dropped us like a rock due to a billing issue of which we paid however they stated that it was "Too Late" All three of our children have been going here their entire lives. One with a heart issue one with potential asthma/breathing issues (potential because when called to set up an appointment they told us we could no longer see our doctor). We called and pleaded with them begging them to allow us to return to our doctor but the administrator, Judy Kilby, was incredibly rude and refused to let us return to the office because of a (small!) billing issue that was only miscommunication. There is no doubt that I can understand not being allowed to return to a doctor you fail to pay. However we have paid all of our bills in full and they still have chosen to be so rude as to say we may not come back after being loyal to this practice and as I have stated very pleased with our doctor. Now I have one child with heart issues another with issues we do not yet have answers to all with no doctor to see them. The practice is more concerned with collecting a paycheck then with treating children! Even children who has serious heal concerns. I would never recommend this office to anyone."
