"I see several positive reviews regarding weddings. I'm happy for them and wish them all the best. Our experience in April of 2022 was VERY different. Why did I wait until now to post anything? I didnt want the country club to go back on our agreements. Settle in, as this will be long. We'll start with the tour. My wife, her parents, and I had our tour during another wedding. I understand to a degree, but we saw maybe half of the venue and felt "in the way". Again, I kind of get it, but it was awkward to do this while others were trying to have their own day. Cut to the rehearsal. Our coordinator was an hour late in meeting with us. There was another wedding going on, and we could not get in touch with anyone. The wedding party stood in the lobby, trying to stay out of the way of everything going on. Wedding day. My wife informed the coordinator and her assistants that she would be arriving early to prepare. She was assured that she would be able to do so, and that one of them would be there. Instead, my wife waited outside in mid-40s weather for almost an hour. Again, no one could be reached. It wasn't until a random pro shop employee saw her that she was let inside. Thank you to that man! Neither of our rooms were set up properly. For her, she was missing drinks, food, and the box of essentials for the ceremony; ring pillows, flower petal baskets, etc. For me, it was a bottle of Jameson, ice, and a charcuterie board that would barely satisfy a single child, let alone six grown men. I was admonished by the coordinator because I did what I thought was logical, and went to the club bar to acquire the alcohol related items. This was after attempting numerous times to contact the coordinator and her assistants. It turns out that there was another tour going on, and no one could be bothered with the actual wedding. Prep time. We had an option to move inside if weather was poor. The temperature had risen, but the wind created problems. Yet again, no one was able to get in touch with anyone in order to make this change. My groomsmen and I would have taken care of everything if we knew where to move things, but that location was left out of our tour due to the wedding going on at the same time. All we knew was that we COULD. Oh well. We powered through. Cocktail hour. Food was missing. We know this because we asked the photographer and her assistant to take pictures of the food, as we knew that we would be too busy to enjoy, let alone see it. Many of our guests confirmed this when asked, as well. We paid extra for a "signature cocktail", which was a simple variety of cosmo. None of the bartenders knew what we were talking about. The bartenders were also quite rude to guests and us. Now we get the part that killed me; the reception. I had been in the service industry for twenty years prior to this event. Half of the guests on my side are/were in the industry. I created what I thought was an "idiot proof" chart. It had seating arrangements, guest names, table assignments, allergies, and special instructions. Allergies were marked with a pink "A" and highlighted. Special instructions were marked with a yellow "S" and also highlighted. A legend was written out at the bottom. Raw chicken, over/under cooked steak, and dry fish. There were three allergy plates. They were ignored. There were two special instructions. One was for a well done steak for my mother (I know), which ended up rare. End of reception. Coordinator is telling us 15 minutes prior that we need to get people to leave and that the "staff is tired". Guests were already gathering their things. Staff was already breaking things down. They threw out food meant to go to homes. We had an option to extend, but chose not to. Cardinal sin in the industry: don't rush your guests. On a side note; do you not realize who you're saying "the staff is tired" to? Lemme tell you about tired... There's SO much that I left out, including the aftermath. I've run out of space, though. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk"
"We loved having our wedding at Belmont! We had a long (multi-year) engagement and had planning experiences with Kellyn, Kady, and Margaret, who were all great. Everything came together in the end so beautifully, and Margaret was always responsive to all of our requests. She even helped us out by driving us in a gold cart to the course for our post-ceremony photos! So many of our guests mentioned how beautiful the property was, and every detail that was planned was executed well by the venue. The bridal suite was also beautiful, and the clawfoot bathtub made for some very cute getting ready photos. Would recommend Belmont to anyone looking for an all-inclusive wedding venue in the Northern Virginia area!"
"Great place for a quiet round of golf. Super nice staff, Christi specifically, helped us enjoy our very first round at Belmont. 10/10 recommend"
"We used Belmont as our wedding venue, and they were absolutely wonderful to work with. We ended up working with several different events directors due to job changes/maternity leave, and I was seriously impressed that there were no dropped ball during the changes. They always did a great job with the information handover! Kady was our event manager during our wedding day. She was unflappable and really on top of everything, we didn't run into any issues at all. Katie assisted and she did a marvelous job carefully packing everything up for us at the end of the night - she even individually wrapped the vases we provided for centerpieces. The venue is beautiful, and the food was really delicious. Overall, they made our wedding experience so easy and I'm very grateful for their hard work."
"A beautiful course in Northern Virginia with a nice combination of challenging holes with tight, technical shots and wide open fairways with the right amount of elevations and hazards to make play fun and challenging."
