"Gorgeous lake beach. Clean. It wasn't too busy when we went. My family makes the trip 2-3 times a summer. It's fun to swim, fish, and cookout."
"The Mauch Chunk Lake Park is located in the Boroughs of Jim Thorpe. It’s in Carbon County, less than an hour’s drive north of Allentown. I am not saying it's worth it or not, that's up to you but if you are in this area, visiting Jim Thorpe, you must come here. While lodging at this park, you can enjoy the art of Mother Nature on the 2.8-mile man-made Mauch Chunk Lake. Swimming is one of the most popular activities at Mauch Chunk Lake, but you can only do it while lifeguards are on duty. On the beach, visitors can enjoy access to play equipment for children, a food and refreshment stand, and a beach pavilion. You can’t bring your pets. Fee: beach access is not free. Daily admission to the beach area is $3 for adults and $2 for children over 3 years old. Non-county residents pay a higher fee of $10 per adult and $7 per child. The park, where the lake is, it’s full of activities. Camping: YES!! From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the camping rate is $20/per night for county residents and $40/per night for non-county residents. There are five different trails at Mauch Chunk Lake. The Switchback Trail, the most popular trail, is designed for hiking and biking."
"I came from out of the county, so I I paid $10 per person. Plenty of parking. The bathroom did not have doors, they have curtains. They were clean. The snack place only accepts cash. It was windy and cold, so we did not swim."
"Beautiful lake. Very nice and serene and not overcrowded at all. Only thing that could have made it better would be just paying per car and not per person. Otherwise great experience and will be back again."
"We went there last weekend for a family camping. It is a great place for family camping. Bathrooms are nice and clean, Lake beach to keep kids engaged. There was a storm on 15th so we had leave in the middle of the night. We packed as much as we could and planned to come next morning to get the tent. When I got back my air mattress, hammock and a mat were gone, tent was still there. Park ranger helped us to get safely out of the park. A small tree fell down on our site, luckily no-one was hurt. I was expecting park ranger or someone to check on each site after the storm. site #19, Days 14th- 15th"
